Nice, last minute Vid before the A2 test!
Stephen has already stated that he personally will fund the game to release if needed. And yes, he has the money to put in.
Great video man, keep it up!
I can’t people spent all this money for a game that doesn’t exist. Please go outside! This is not normal behavior!
They're be picked up by a corporate overlord the game will release but will be then filled with gotcha 😢
Ok, first of all its quite clear your not in the development part of any ict company. Most of the revenue prior to releasing your product is from selling assets and/or code, or outsourcing (currently not utilised) specialists. When outsourcing, not only do you earn money, but you also cut costs.
Second, montly recurring subscriptions, in a product that has any cash shop (paid to win or cosmetics only) earn most of their money from the cashshop. As you might have realized, up till 22-23, each month they were advertising, never returning cosmetics packs, and most of them looked appealing.
Third, revenue means the amount of income AFTER expenses, with 35+ M revenue estimated, that means there making more then enough money to fund their projects indefinatly.
Forth, it is known that unreal engine, actually has bought some of Intrepids internally build systems, and for those they will receive royalties, wich depending how well perceived by other developers they are could end up earning them the most money. Especially their server meshing if sold to Unreal for royalties, could revolutionize server communications, and earn them a lot of money.
The money earned from alpha packs, keys, beta packs etc, is just a bonus but ultimately funding won't be a problem.
The weird doo doo doo doo on loop put me off, is there a tldr?
This is the biggest bait title ever, actually trash lmfao
I believe he was expecting to spend way more than this going into it but since the game recieved so much funding, they are letting the game grow even more to polish the game a lot with such a long development cycle. I wonder just how much hes willing to sink into it however because i dont expect it to be done for another 3-4 years because now they have to actually build the content. Theres only a small part of 1 zone done. Out of 18?
I think besides having player feedback on the systems they want tested the biggwst thing is their server architecture. They plan on selling their server architecture to other companies and that will help bring revenue in while they develop the game and thats why they wanted to sell the alpha keys get something more in and get the one thing they can start selling sooner than the game itself. And i think the intrepid net is pretty close to start being sold and in may the 24/7 server testing will be when they can prove it so maybe about a year from now theyll actually have aomething brining in some revenue and theyre hoping on that. At least stephen is
Who said they were releasing the game at the end of 2026? Lmao…
One thing that is for sure is we will never run out of click bait titles to set the fanboys hair on fire.
what a clickbait thumbnail …
Because no one else has mentioned it, loved the weird hair transition and the hoodie and art in your room dude. Love the style
think the idea is a scam
Steven went over their finances and the costs of running the company over the course of a year like a few months ago in the live stream.
The biggest milestone the casual observer needs to look for is hitting A2 Phase 2 on 20th December 2024.
If they can do that then they will have a good chance of hitting Alpha2 Phase3 on May1 2025. If they do that, then we will get a complete game in 2026, probably second half. the Beta testing on Agile projects tends to be pretty much a formality; more about getting the production environment set up, and testing the launch strategy than testing the product itself.
Save yourself 18 minutes, the answer is they have plenty of money.
