yay
Buttttttt Narccccccc c!!!!!
Id like to be able to mine any node at level 0 but only get rare mats when I have the skills, so that i have the choice to make a mistake and rob other more skilled players of the chance.
Really enjoyed how PVP was in Runescape and how you could have different builds in certain brackets rather than max level only. I used to just Skill on release of Runescape. I was just mindlessly cutting trees for 5 hours a day instead of doing homework 😀
Artisan skill tree make me go 🙂
As long as they stay away from Instancing.
I'm okay with Nuetral Non Combat areas / period for noobs- but that's it. Everything else is part of the world and the world should be dangerous
Dungeons need to be part of the world. Uninstanced. But there need to be good farm spots and stuff in those dungeons and gameplay elements inside those spots other than just Wait For Spawn
I see you there with your Shai killing Lambs by Lynch ranch. Let me guess got a farm right behind Loggia where you make Balenos meals for Guru boxes?
haha me too.
Okay all jokes aside BDO has probably the best "lifeskill" system of any game I've ever played and here are the things I like about it.
First it's got this really satisfying progression system where your improvement in the skills have pretty drastic affects on how well you do things in the future (like real life expertise) unlike say WoW where higher levels just opens up more recipes you actually become more efficient.
Second it has a great blend of large scale game play (such as planning and executing a huge project). And also small interactive game play such as milking cows, tending to your farms, doing quests to collect other things, gathering, traveling on your ship etc…) which are great for those moments when you have time to sit down and actively play
Third it also has plenty of down time activities that you can just set it and walk away for a few hours and come back and be done. This is one of my favorite parts as a dad with a full time job. It's nice that I can just set my Shai up to process thousands of milk into cheese, flour into dough, cooking thousands of meals, afk fishing etc…and walk away to go take my kids to the park without feeling like I'm falling behind. As someone who played WoW and other games for many years every hour your away from your computer is an hour you're not being productive. BDO knows that and gives you the option to progress even while you can't actively play More games need afk tasks like this because we ALL can't be no life neckbeards at the P.C 18 hours a day. It's just such a satisfying combination of play styles wrapped up into one system.
I dont understand New Worlds Material Upgrade System. 10 pieces of soft wood don't make the wood harder. Mixing shit tier wood makes particle board, not black walnut 2x4s
Yes I agree BDO with a broad spectrum mastery tree would be great. The only thing I've actually heard about ashes of creation crafting that I look forward to is the fact that the low level items will be needed to make higher level items. As an example if you can make a bronze sword right in the beginning and you need to make an iron sword you have to have some iron and a bronze sword. This means the beginning stuff will never be "out leveled."and people gathering low-level stuff will set base prices in the market
I'd love to see Conan Exiles, but not shitty, as an MMO. That would be amazing. Player made cities, dungeons to raid and bosses to fell, siege warfare, item loot, fear.
Well lets hope they make something fun cuz I pretty much lost hope in all the new mmorpgs…
I was always under the impression that Ashes would let us play as a main gatherer, crafter, trader, etc. since it's a sandbox. The implementation of freeholds seem like a game on its own that would work with those mechanics too.
Ouch! Amazon definetly hurts after that comment.
IDK it would be kinda of cool if a guild could build a massive complex with a large farm on it set up to grow plants and trees from different biomes. If you made the farming system intricate where growing certain plants require skills, equipment, and that skill grants varying successes; crafters could stay in one area and do what they want. This way Raiders and Crafters would unify and play the game they want.
I absolutely love your edits, man. They are tasteful, have just the right frequency without overfilling the video, emphasize your points, and the consistency is A-1!
Something that I would like to see in their crafting is disassembly, as a fake example you find the legendary sword of arcus and based on your skill you have a 10% chance to disassemble it and a 90% chance to destroy it in the attempt but you decide to go ahead and make the attempt. If you're successful I would like to see a limited run blueprint created, say for 10 of a slightly lesser item with a zero percent deconstruct.
Ages ago there was a Sci-Fi space game called Earth and Beyond that did this and it was brilliant.
The down side of New World and BDO you can't plant everywhere like in ArcheAge.
I enjoyed archage up to lvl 30 and then you had to head into pvp areas. After that it turned to shit because thats what PvP does to games.
MMO's could really learn a thing or two from survival games. New World tried to, but their crafting system wasn't good so the gathering stopped being fun.
