With Ashes of Creation showing off their highly anticipated Node System, many people were blown away at the sheer quality and passion put into it!
In todays video we’re going to break down this Huge Upcoming MMORPGs Dynamic Player Driven Cities as shown during their August 2023 Development Update.
Holy mother of god. This node looks unbelievable. I was very impressed with the upgrades compared to what we got during Alpha One and I cannot wait to see what these “future node streams” show off for us.

A noice vid ? Yes indeed
I was disappointed in the livestream. The entire stream was focused on the mayor and mayoral systems, which very few will play. I know this is important and is a focus for Stephen, but where was the big picture? Where were the nodes growing, buildings expanding, nodal bonuses, religious bonuses, and the broader information. While the information was great, I think it will only benefit a select few that were to control a node. Where was any information for the rest of the player base? Perhaps there will be a part two, but with their schedule, I doubt it.
The Academic term might be from the advancement trees of the node.
they should release a livestream of a building being built at real speed – however long that takes. I have a suspicion that it would be watched by hundreds if not thousands of ppl. I would leave it on my desktop and check in every once in awhile myself.
When seeing all that I can’t help but wonder. People are gonna get really attached to their node. Node wars will be a HUGE deal. I am sure that alliances between nodes to help each other in case of wars will be put in place. And guild protection could be a real thing. Imagine hearing that a nearby artisan node was attacked and having a pvp guild with an agreement to the artisans of that node come in at the dawn of battle. Or a guild that would trigger 3 wars to only participate in one so that the coalition can’t organize on one front.
Such potential
Why does Stephen act like it’s his children when other devs come on to the stream? It’s weird.
That windmil at the end looked so dam good the hay under it looked a little fake but God dam that windmil and the wood/lighting on it was beautiful
Elder Scrolls and Skyrim players are going to feel right at home in Ashes Of Creation.
The difference between A1 and A2 is stunning!
Stream had everything, but node progression. Still happy with it tho
Never before have I had such a balance of "Damn I can't wait to play this" and "Please for the love of all take your time with all your amazing game design"
This game is never going to release to the standard you are imagining @Narc
Maybe it's the copium talking, but after getting a glimpse at the node system, it really does seem like AoC might just be the holy grail of MMO's we've been waiting for. Steve and the team aren't taking shortcuts, and whilst that may be frustrating at this stage, as we sit in darkness, hugging our knees to our chests and telling ourselves that the wait will be worth it, the time they are taking actually looks like it's being invested in making the difference between an ok MMO and a genre defining one.
yo narc why does the fkn piglet have 500 hp? also zoom in on the text im an old man i cant see shi-
The verticality of the nod was crazy cool. The art assets and NPCs looked great. The fact that nodes can have rivers lakes, mountain cliff walls integrated into them is going to make the world look greats. The less cooking cutter towns the better. The more customization on the building the better. Having to travel far and wide to get that one resource you need from that one node that produces it will bring the world to life. This is so cool. The fact that nods can come and go due to nod wars and that will change the dynamics of the economies and flow of resource is great.
Narc you glorious bastard!
The only complaint I have from the stream is we didn't get to see the node advance from stage 2 to stage 3. Hopefully we get that in the future when they show off other race architecture
Epic
We're huffing good this month, lads!
Looked super cool, def gonna watch the stream when i can. I would, as a small criticism, like to see npcs doing the building of the structures. Just seeing progress without any visual representation that it's happening is slightly off putting. But I'm sure Intrepid has thought of this already.
I couldn't enjoy the video over the sounds of copium sucking
Dont think ashes will ever release. Theyre making too many features and that will prolong development time. They'll run out of cash at this rate
Damn, nodes look siick
we're godamn high on copium
character movement and combat looks still very poor and old..
Unreal 5 but no footprints walking in mud not single footprint😆
What happened to your mic? :c
engagement
So Q2 2024, yeah?
Really good looking game. Thanks for the video.
Well happy to see you rise the ranks mayor narc
Finally seeing more than just a middling combat system and average UI; this is what will get me on board with this game!
