Intrepid just announced the bombshell that we are all on the same server. No ducking accusations, no collusion…just playing the game together.

Let the fun commence.

  1. Surely leveling is going to be amazing with every grinding spot being flooded by people and questing still not being an option. Surely the server performance is going to be flawless. Surely farming resources is going to be satisfying with resources being so plentyful. Surely they thought about all of this right? Right?

  2. I think this change is good for server stability testing, and I think it will be enjoyable for the large guilds who want to test their mettle. But I think everyone in a small or medium guild who thought they had a chance at a town or freehold just had their hopes dashed upon the rocks. My prediction is that for pve this is going to be pretty bad experience unless your with a guild that can come fight over a spawn or control a dungeon for a few hours. Crafting could go either way, but more than likely there will be chaos and the right building wont get built, which means that to push forward on crafting past level 10 you would need access to a freehold. Small guilds and individuals are going to really struggle to the extent that it may not be fun for them to play at all. I think the world should be larger, in the number of nodes and PoI, before they force all the big guilds together in one space. Thats just my observation/prediction based on playing MMOs for over 24 years. The obvious retort that most people are likely to say to this is that the game is designed for large guild interactions like this and so players should just join big guilds. There are many players who dont enjoy being part of a large organization, and this game appeals to them too. If ashes is going to survive it needs to cater to everyone from the individual player to the large guild and everything in between, and it can easily do so, by giving players options.

  3. Of course. He needs to see how Zergs influence the game. He will find out real quick that ANY zerg guild/alliance will ruin the lesser guilds experience. With this people will quit the game. If there is no balance with the fairness, its not going to be good for the game.

  4. Interesting to see how Castus works out. been quite except for Verdent and Nexus mostly peaceful for casual players , crafters and gathers. HHMM going to interesting got my new comp and drive setup for a lot of recordings.

  5. The server squish should have been communicated earlier since many people made plans to be available and sweaty at the launch of A2. If we all end up sitting around in queues or waiting for the server to come back up, that will generate a lot of negative buzz that simply could have been avoided by being upfront.

  6. My dude says that PKers will just be cool and let RPers, crafters, etcetera walk away to "take a break." Whatever guild/server you were in must've been heaven.

And all because you're bothered by discussions online about which server is better? Hope the player drop off is worth it.
