  1. Man. Despite my high tolerance to copium at this point, I don’t know how well 500 v 500 will perform. Even with top end rig’s and a next gen infrastructure on intrepids side. But ya know what? Lemme just mainline this next hit of copium and I can see it being epic!

  2. Haven’t watch it yet but I already like the video because of the title 😂😂, 500 vs 500 is going to be crazy if they ever successfully implemented.

  3. This is one of the main things I'm excited about. Massive battlegrounds sounds amazing and I'm hyped for it! While it is a bit feat to get such large battles going, I believe next gen tech will be able to do it.

  4. I agree, I'd rather have a smooth running fight of 250 vs. 250 … than to have a lag fest of 500 vs. 500!
And I am sure they have paid attention to the mishaps & mistakes New World made, but just incase… PLEASE, BE READY FOR TONS OF PLAYERS SWARMING IN AT LAUNCH! Have strong servers that are prepared for incoming high population! And enough (not too many, but enough if it can be helped) servers available for us to choose from, from the beginning!

  5. I never played Lineage either, so I don't know if battles that large are just folks grasping at nostalgia. I'm interested for sure! And given New Worlds peak, I'd say at least 800k others are clamoring for the next big pvp MMO too.

  6. super exited for 500 vs 500 if they are able to acheive it, i belive they will becuase of how they have shown us how the engine responds to alot of people and entities in a confined area. with that alone im fairly confident about that seige system in a general sense.

  7. i feel like 500 vs 500 is just to big, even 250 vs 250 is to big. sure it'll be fun for casual players but as a pvp officer let me tell you, it will be HELL for us. organising it all, making sure key players are there, people who don't show up to be replaced, it'll probably be fun at first i guess!

  8. After playing the Alpha 1, to be honest, I don't think the map is big enough to handle it, not 500v500 anyway. I think they should open up the map a bit and NAIL 250 vs 250. But that's just me.
I do agree on the old ways, it's just not possible enough anymore, to many distractions, not to mention most of the younger generation has the attention span of a spazzed gnat. Those were the good ole days…hours in front of thr puter, a mountain of soda cans, empty pizza boxes, empty Pringle cans strewn about….ahhj fond memories for sure.
Great vid as always, and I can't wait to see the goodies in the new live stream next week!!!

  9. If you played classic wow then u know that there were significantly more highwarlords/grand marshalls in comparison to vanilla wow, I'd say people are more inclined now to grind out 18+ hours a day to get a piece of gear. Theres a significant playerbase in the mmorpg scene that is "Super sweaty" more so then previously encountered in the early to mid 2000's

  10. WoW did used to be able to deal with massive open world pvp mashups until MoP and still to a decent sized extent in WoD, But after they put in the stupid amount of proc of proc on proc rng chance of proc on proc and more rng procs on top off chances of proc, it went totally tits up. Hopefully AoC do not make the same mistake with procs on top of procs and more proc chance to proc on top of the other proc that might proc proc xD

  11. To be honest, 500 vs 500 is kind of being a lot of ambitious. It can get really messy so it would be better if they would only do 250 vs 250 and pull it off without any issues. And in any online multiplayer game the worst thing is the lag. Lets see how ashes can do things. Great video as always brother.

  12. While I have never played something so massive I still have doubts. Not whether they can do it, but rather will it be too much chaos. If they spread the masses out by attacking and holding outposts or specific points can be manageable however 1k players in one castle may be just too chaotic.

  13. I have a background in IT and I am honestly not worried about the servers. As long as the code is well written and scaling is considered, in technical terms "Big O Notation" (that is actually what it's called, yes the big O). I am more worried about clients being able to handle is, especially with the insane prices of GPU's. Hopefully the price comes down but if not this game is just going to price people out.

  14. Higher numbers dont generally mean better. 500v500 seiges looks nice on paper but does it even work? What happens to servers that cant amount 500 players? Do everyone have things to do in the seige or is it just a zerg fest?

High player base wars work in things like wvw in gw2 cause its a never ending battle (its what made vanilla alterac valley fun too, long battles though that wasnt in the scale of gw2's wvw or ashes's ambitious seiges) where solo players could go do their own thing and still help in the grand scale or they could group up and help push. If its just going to be a 30-60minute battle then it doesnt matter if its 100v100 or 1000v1000, by that point the numbers dont mean much (upto a point, which helps in strategy like flanking or pushing different objectives etc, which 250 is alot already).

  15. I really hope they push for 500 vs 500 and not because that would be epic, although yeah it would be epic. For me though it boils down to community. If you low cap the number of participants then you will only see the biggest most active players participate. If you increase the cap then it becomes a numbers game, which means more casual players can assist in a meaningful way. While they may get wrecked against the elite players, 1 elite player with 3-4 casual players behind him will roll the elite player on the other side, which is what community in warfare is all about.

  16. I don't believe 500vs500 is ever happening, maybe 200vs200 at best.
Unless they manage to pull of some hyper CPU optimization to the point no other game or engine has succeeded before.

  17. It is one of the steve's daydreams that worries me a lot for just 3 reasons:

    1) lets be honest, u WONT put 1k players in the screen without lag

    2) the battle will be just an AOE spam. Who has more aoe power will win, simple as that.

    3) U CANT organize 500 players to be at the same time in some location of the map. If this come on live, the sieges will just FLOP, because this will be too onerous to the guilds. It just wont be worth.

Steve sometimes has to leave your craziness aside and fit into reality.

  18. I am truely IN LOVE with new world. LvL 55, 0 quests remaining, have to kill bunnys en turkeys now…. its so BAD!

Yet I still love it SO much, I can see the insane potential.

That said, I love how you absolutely flame down New World, because that s what it deserves, and thats what it needs in order to become succesful in the future instead of sugar coating the MANYproblems the game has.

Love you vids, thanks again for entertaining me 🙂

  19. I like PVP for "end game" content, but prefer smaller fights where I fight with a group of 5-20 people I know who are coordinated via voicechat by a smart leader (not me:-). Real intelligence can be brought to bear in that situation, and amazing feats can be pulled off occasionally. Fighting 500 vs 500 would be just like zerging, which is a totally mindless activity. So I agree with you that putting huge resources into that is not the best use of resources. On the other hand, Steven wants it to be possible for a large group of people to attack a metropolis and take it down, and that is probably too deeply integrated into the game design to change. The only way I would find such a large battle to be a good experience is if the attack could be broken down into numerous smallish sub-fights around different objectives, so that I could still fight with my little voice chat group.
