I doubt very much that there will be shops between nodes, since there are roaming bands of NPCs constantly wondering the realm. Whether you're there to protect your shop or not.

My God, Americans! What unprecedented game mechanics and design are you talking about? Why are you so surprised? Almost everything Steve talked about in AMA is fucking Lineage 2 in one form or another! What planet are you from? 30 percent of the boomers who are waiting for the game are L2 veterans and they have no questions about the design of the game at all, it is native to us.
