  1. I have done Alpha testing, its not fun. Its allot of work. If people want to pay to have Alpha access and do the hard work of supporting the development with your work by testing and their funds. All the power to you. This speeds up the development of the game and that makes me happy. I will be happy to sit on the side lines and wait for a polished beta testing I pledged for. Im an OG backer, my wife and I. We are not looking to burn out before the game launches.

  2. I´d personally never sell an alpha or beta. Neither I´d give alphas or betas to any random players(giveaways or others). I´d personally give alphas/betas to the kind of players/adventurers that the game/company needs. Click on apply to alpha/beta and u would need to answers a few question of what kind of player/adventurer are you, not just a pvp/pve player but also casual, semihardcore or hardcore and I´d ask what kind of gameplay do the player enjoy, raiding/ dungeons/bg´s/arenas/open world pvp,etc.. and according to the answers I´d either give ya the acces or not

  3. the Q; IMO its not about equaling the bravers of worlds package. its about detering people that want to play a game. when they reopened sales for alpha 1 they wanted boomers (with money) that want to test and not cry on reddit about everything wrong/missing.

  5. The only thing worries me in Ashes is the combat system and for me combat system is the most important thats why i still play New World regardless the lack of content .I didnt played closed beta but i hope the combination of tab targeting and action combat is not a mess ,i will play as action combat because tab targeting is obsolete in terms of gameplay

  6. I think keeping it at 500, in line with what the backers on kickstarter paid is the right call. I won't do it, but I won't beta test games anymore either. I hope they make a great product but I'm not holding my breath. If they do, it launches and it is finished I will be right there driving an axe into other players foreheads.

  7. man people should stop hyping the game and just wait. all these content creators hyping games saying KING of MMO. hope your right and it wont be another failure

  8. I pledged the 500usd as an Aussie soooooo it was more like… a whole weeks wage. It's quite likely that I will never meet another player in-game with the same cosmetics as me, I'll be atop my royal duck, selling my husbandry mounts abroad!

  9. I bought in to the Alpha 1 and I had a great time exploring and thoroughly testing the system and providing feed back. I am looking forward to Alpha 2 and further testing; I want this game to be amazing for all of us. If you have the means and are interested in testing, come join in and purchase a pack. If you do not have or do not want to spend the money, or test, no problem, just wait for the game to be released. We'll all get there together. * As a side note, you can also contribute to the development without testing the Alphas and Betas; you can participate in the forums discussions and provide feed back this way too.

  10. For the record, I know its just talking about it for the sake of talking about it but I dont mind 10 minute discussions of AOC daily, hype or not your videos are fun to watch and make great points!

  11. I think they made the right call. It keeps the plebs away for the most part. I backed it, and tested the hell out of it as much as I could and put up a ton of feedback for them. More so than that, not only did you get the alpha1 key, you got a years worth of game time, and some extra stuff to boot, so you really are supporting the company. As I've said before, this is my last great hope for the MMO genre. Will it be the god of all MMo's? I doubt it, but if I can have fun, make some friends, have fun playing with them, and m sons, then I'm good. My biggest concern is I sure as hell hope someone is taking notes on Amazon's debacle on things NOT to do. Anywho, another great vid as always! Keep 'em coming!

  12. The A1 key was never a kickstarter exclusive and was sold in monthly packs after the kickstarter. They took it out of packs in the past (think it was aug-july 2018). Kickstarter backers got a lot more stuff. To me, the only people who got the short end of the stick is the people who felt pressured to buy in when they first said they would take it away.

  13. I like the idea of Ashes in principal, but they are already filling the game with stupid looking mounts and selling exclusive cosmetics and titles before the game close to finished. Both are terrible ways to spend artistic/development time before they even release. In any case no MMO will retain players for more than a month or two unless 1) the gameplay feels smooth, bug free and fun 2) they have a choc load of content ready to go out the gate. Ashes is very shaky on the first point and almost certainly won't have the second unless they release post 2025.

  14. 8:52 The differenciation doesnt matter really. Even if the cosmetics (short for player cosmetics) are taken from ingame NPC models from various zones, its still player cosmetics if given to players. Theres no justification for pushing that aggresive FOMO monetization so early on. There is no doubt in my mind that this style of fomo cosmetics will happen after release.

I'm very excited for AoC but this is the only thing making me wary of the game. Cosmetics is a big reward structure for MMO's. Yeah they've said that store cosmetics wont be as elaborate compared to ingame, but thats just how its naturally going to be.

I rather they had a box cost than microtranscations, but that ship has sailed long ago and I dont see that changing. I can only hope that they dont push fomo cosmetics after launch, I dont mind paying $$ for cosmetics but if its going to be fomo then I''ll tread carefully. Look at me, so high on copium and already settling for less and less on the game… "oh they did this already and cant be changed without fking up people who already put in… well i hope they dont make it worse and do it less often"

  15. As always my friend, great work. Also, I agree with you on the purchase of the keys after Steven told us not to do so. But, what Steven didn’t understand—or actually, I believe he did—was exactly how you put it: we support the development of a game by a fellow gamer who is tired of the corporate mishaps upon a new release. We will always see patches in games, but to wait for a game that will be exactly what the devs promise us is far more important to us, and as a gamer in his forties, this may be my “last” mmo I ever dive in to 100% (I will being gaming until I pass 😈🤪). Either way, it’s a project I personally want to see succeed in most, if not all the goals set by intrepid.

  16. I really don’t think ashes is as niche is people say it checks a lot of boxes.
It checks a PvPers, RPers, crafter and marketeers it also going to have something that so many rpg and mmo player been dreaming about for ever owning your own inn and shops. Then also checking the old school box where grouping is important. All they have to do is deliver what they say will be in game and it will do well.

  17. this dude says an unreleased game WILL succeed but says new world has failed, a newly released game, man, you dont know if the game will succeed or not, what if the game has more bugs than world of warcraft at launch, shit is gonna be a storm.

  18. I hope you eventually become a very successful AoC content creator, I really do. I enjoy your videos, your voice is easily recognizable, I'm high on copium when it comes to AoC too, but man… You've been milking AoC so much it's bleeding now xD Btw. selling cosmetics kills a major part of the game experience, I know you know what I mean, so tear them apart in your next video!

  19. Nice video. Not sure if I will be playing, but I am enjoying the development of this game. I watch videos like this and every Dev stream.

As a side note. I really wish folks would stop commenting negatively about tab targeting and just enjoy the combat style you prefer. I have played a few action combat MMOS and do not like action combat in my MMOS. So, if it doesn't have both options or just tab target then I'm not interested. No one style is better than the other. It is simply a matter of preference….no matter what the current year is.
