  1. I really like these war cry and boss blocking out mechanics, but I think that block should be happening and something like 70%, so other guilds have some time to interrupt the boss killing before it's too late
(Great vid as always, good luck in growing!)

  2. Not a bad idea to have a lock-out from a corpse-running perpespective. However, it will not stop zergs coming in the last minute to kill your group: it will now simply happen at the 40% mark rather than the 5% mark. I believe there is no balanced way to give "small guilds" a chance over larger groups, nor should there be I think. The coordination & alliance building for the larger group is an engaging mechanic in itself & should be rewarded. To a large part: EVE is successful because of this.

    Just a thought.

  3. I am pumped for ashes even if it does not do as good as we all hope. It will be a wonderful experience either way with what intrepid and Steven are trying to do. With that said I do enjoy the open world pvp side of mmos and tbh was worried that all the scrubs who just rush in last min and wipe everyone while they are low hp would ruin world bosses like usual but I have gained hop by watching till the end!! Thank you for this, if they pull off this arena thing with the first 10% being the pvp faze and seems hopefully able to control partially with either pushing that 10% to hurry and get the next phase started or keep it slow to kinda wait for the fight with a guild. Either way if it actually works out, the guild and players who make it to the actual boss phase will feel rewarded. Let's just hope the first phase fleshes out like it sounds! Fingers crossed haha. Thanks for the content Narc!

  4. World Bosses definitely need to have some sort of mass amount of players such as 100-300 players in order to complete and they need to appear random for say an entire day, this means that any player can find them and report them to a city/metropolis or whatever and a World Boss Party can be formed. Each World Boss should also have a title associated with it to distinguish all of those players that partook in the defeat of said World Boss.
Ashes as an opportunity to do something completely different yet at the same time, something that every player could love which allows them to stay on the game for years to come. World Bosses, imo, is just one way for the developers to ensure that continuous playing by the player base.

  5. I think nobody can make better than gw 2,there is mehanics and completly system for world bosses so fuckin amazing and you basicly enjoy to do this!So they can only copy from them and make similar system like gw 2 have!

  6. i would say thats a good idea the only thing is that the guild that its stronger will snowball and take over all off the future rb leaving other guild powerless! but i do like my pvp o bosses its like the best experience! its just hard to balance for everyone to have a fair chance to get the rewards for their efforts!

  7. My best experience with world bosses was in Aion. The game had 2 opposing factions, so naturally there always was room for competition. We had separate alliances to kill the boss and another as a defence. Leading it, communicating with others, playing a tug of war with opposing army, gathering info and then striking to win. Ah, sweet memories.

  9. I mean. OWPVP is great, tons of fun, and a good dynamic however, it should really be optional. Allowing OWPVP at all times is decent, but I think a fair balance is disabling it in a large area (more or less akin to the boss attack range,) when a world boss is up. This could help:

If someone taps the boss and leaves, they can be executed – respawn and gain no rewards for trying to be a scumbag.
The area wouldnt be able to be blocked by top guilds (I think this is one of the shittiest things possible anyways,) and once entering the bosses range you are no longer eligible to be pvp'd until the world boss is dead. On top of this, a short timer after the boss would be nice to not just allow instant spam kills after the boss is down. Also frustrating.

Additionally, if this Worldboss AOE isnt effective, (maybe a guild is big enough to still police its perimeter and troll,) perhaps a form of in game registration for the world boss could suffice. With a timer applied that you cant OWPVP while registered, until either the boss is dead, or you unregister.

    Food for thought.

Note: Most WB fights with openworld pvp are never actually a good fight. With the swing of explosive damage metas in games, most large fights end in minutes now a days and the over geared side just stays on top – contributing to the atrophy of the game. I dont want AOC to become a competition of put down. Shits annoying. If you participate, you should get loot.

Too many games nowadays focus way too hard on 'bringing your opponent (and sometimes teammates) down' rather than 'bringing yourself up,' it's incredibly annoying, and if I wanted trash like that I would go play League.
I would much rather see AOC encourage collaboration between everyone, with mixed 'for sport' competition that isn't based solely around denying someone else something.

  10. Lineage 2's Baium fight had something like that.
The pvp was about the acces to the gate behind wich the boss woud have spawned. The spawn time could be few hours in wich the control over the gate could have switched a few times between the participating guilds. Once the actual boss spawned inside, the ones who controlled the gate area at that time could enter, and once the boss was engaged, no one could enter no more.
    nice times :).
    here's a nice pvp video at Baium 🙂 i was there : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8M1iJ73I8I&t=133s

  11. I think solving the pvp while killing a boss could be solved by making a chokepoint for defenders to defend the raid from outsiders, the more complicated the boss, the better the chokepoint

  12. PvP needs to be a part of the world boss encounters, i feel like with the current flagging corruption system it will be enough to stop ganking for the most part. But on the other hand i can see any hard core player having a 'red' character they log on just to grief these type of things, OR to clear out popular xp grinding camps for their 'blue' character. Lineage-2 had this problem. While fun, it made it so you had to really pay attention and not accidently attack someone.

  13. I doubt they will do anything revolutionary. The fights looked pretty straight forward.

Let's try not to hype the game up too much. Otherwise it won't survive launch and it won't be given a chance to grow and improve.

  14. Add a diminishing returns to boss kills that works like torrent upload/download ratios from the past.
At some point it will be beneficial to help others rather than lock them out

  15. Sorry but world PvP isn't good in most cases thats why most games changed to the "flag yourself for PvP" 2 do PvP in open world. In my "opinion" (yes like an arss everyone has 1) giving the option to flag yourself for PvP or not is the best system. Giving people choices is good… But maybe im just high on copium😜

  16. how about, the group participating with the world boss. will need to defend the areas. basically deviding the group in 2/3 groups. 1 which will be actively fighting the boss. 2/3 defending them from outsiders. if no outsiders the group is bigger and it will go easier. this feels like the most neutral way to keep everything in balance

  17. here is the solution
if u dont flag for pvp u can normally fight the world boss
but if u flag for pvp you get a 20% chance to get epic loot from the boss
so in a nutshell, flagged for pvp increases your drop rate
so u either get normal rates and play safe
or risk pvp and get a cooler reward

  18. Why not just have like a war-type mode and if you have it on, you gain more XP/higher Loot/More damage/More Buffs, And if you have it off, you do less damage and you gain less quality of drops?

  19. Do you know how loot will work in the final version? Let me explain:

Looting rights (also known as Loot tagging) is based on a tag and DPS (damage) system. The first party to obtain a tag (on a mob or boss) will require approximately 40% or more of the total DPS to be granted looting rights. Parties who do not have the first tag will be required to do more than approximately 60% of the total DPS to quality for looting rights.

  20. The lockout mechanic is dumb. In Ashes you need to do 40% of the damage if your group tags the boss first. Or 60% if your group tries to steal it. Much better it rewards the early birds and or the strongest group/ guild.

  21. I would say a good "boss" experience is that of MHW, not a mmo but every fight thats hard feels like it because you have to learn. Only happens once tho. But its memorys forever
