  1. Elden Ring's combat isn't anything special though. It's essentially the same as Dark Souls 1. Someone get this man Bloodborne, or Sekiro or something, he really needs to play FromSoft games with better combat systems

  2. This looks incredibly clunky in movement.looks like its made to screenshots of idle animations. The need to show the combat in dungeons raid and pvp more. This will make or break the game. And in all honest i dont trust a random studio when riot is making an mmo

  3. The pot calling the kettle black. When you say ppl should not play a game in a narrow way, you are judging it in your own ironical 'narrow' way.

For example, you say ppl should be 'forced' to PvP in a game so that they have a 'holistic' experience. You are fortunate to be in US where you are literally sitting beside the game server and lag is never an issue. But there are players playing from remote part of the world playing on a huge lag where PvP is not possible. Even the nearest server closest to them have lag that literally make PvP not possible.

These players have to just stick to PvE and enjoy their game. Why do they have to be forced into PvP when it is not possible to play? We are not even talking about having a all-rounded experience here. We are talking about the feasibility of playing. 'feasibility' of play never factored into your consideration I guess, and that is why I say your judgement is 'narrow' at best.

  4. The one thing that concerns me about this game is that it seems very detailed and extensive in regards to the things you're able to do. Personally, I find this amazing and I love it. However, I'm pretty sure this can be very overwhelming for certain people and it could be off-putting. I agree with Asmon that this game has a lot of potential, but it remains to be seen how well the devs can keep gamers engaged to keep playing for a long period of time. I just hope this won't be a letdown for people that have high hopes for this game to be a success.

  5. Did he just contradict himself by saying "Crafters should be able to play the game and just be Crafters even at end game" then later says "You should have to play other content like PvP to progress."???? Like what?

  6. Mr. Asmongold, you are very popular, I want to ask you – please, when you review the game Ashes of Creation – keep talking and reminding that the developers would pay great attention to

duplicating things and gold … this killed the "new world" and not only…. how would they visually make a sweetie… if I spend 1000 hours on leveling a profession and mining resources… and

another player makes all my progress in 2 hours… go out the window and delete the game. .I beg you! Remind them about this in the review more often! Thanks.

  7. People say combat in mmos like BDO and lost ark is good, but it's really not. Lost arks content outside the raids is lawn mower content, and BDO it's like you are fighting loot pinatas that just stand there and wait for you to hit them .. good animations and feel is not enough. Mmo combat needs a big level up in general. Eldin ring also, its good but it's also pretty dated obviously they have been using the same system since Demon souls. The space needs to look to games like DMC and fighting games to fix this problem but obviously not making them so twitch/execution based for a mmo environment/player base. This combat currently looks really bad though.

  8. Imagine a crafting system where you can make incredibly highly customized pieces of gear where, using a helm for example, you pick different base layouts (great helm, armet, barbut, etc) and then pick a base color, secondary trim pattern and color, tertiary trim, then accessories like wings, plumes, crests, ornaments, etc.

And people who DONT craft can place a work order that lets them use that customization interface to design a custom gear piece that a crafter can then fill to their specifications and get paid for the job

  9. forcing players to do things they don't enjoy works as long as it doesn't cross realms. pve skills should stay with pve only objectives and there should absolutely be no forced objective in a open pvp griefing zone for example. lost ark some island souls are in pvp zones. that isn't too bad when its a ffa kinda event but the open pvp zones that are designed for griefing is a no. it was hell trying to get that one soul from the small island with 3 chests it was just gank squads everywhere for a while until people got bored of griefing.

the difference is with the way ashes of creation is structured, these crafting quests are going to be paramout to progressing your character so if they did have mandatory pvp hotspots i.e. go get this item at this area they will be camped by griefings all the time much more frequently

  10. 100% on the full time crafter position better be available. It's the entire reason I was one of the first kick starters. I want to be a full time crafter for a large guild that owns a castle. Found a guild already that is big enough and good enough to get castles, just hoping I can be affective enough to be a full time crafter for them as my main way of playing the game.

  11. The idea of mixing different activities to progress in your chosen activity can work but not in the way asmon proposes. Forcing a mix of PvP and pve in particular is what would probably end disastrously.

GW2 has a good idea for a solution to this in the new dailies system. By default it’s a broad mix of all kinds of content from the game but they’re all categorized by the type of content, (PvP, pve, wvw) and you can filter out the categories you don’t like but you can’t filter out specific activities within them so you still have to branch out to finish them

  12. I am very hyped for this game, but keeping my patience level. Won’t be fully out for a bit but it’s def gonna be worth the wait.

I dunno what everyone expects, but I’m expecting a good game, fun to play with friends and an actual mmo experience.
