So after much discussion, debate and speculation with the boiz in discord, we finally came to the ultimate conclusion – The exciting truth behind the Alpha 2 map size.
Now it’s important to prefice – this is obviously just copium fueled speculation and educated guessing using the materials presented to us over the last 3 years of development.

  2. This is a genius take, honestly changes my entire perspective on the dev process. I just wish interepid would atcually tell us about why the cosmetics are always being showed off. I dislike them being like stuffed down our throats every livestream.

    That's why we always assumed the game was much further along than we originally thought.

  5. Seriously why not just give us half the world and half the content and progressively release new zones every few months? That way they get a steady revenue stream and we finally get to play a satisfying portion of the game. This game's world is large enough that half or even a third of it would be plenty considering how we could build up nodes across various servers. It would obviously be a bit a paid-beta tester scheme, but it's better than dropping half a grand to barely ever get to even play at all.

  6. Would have loved them to show the changing seasons in the background during the livestream during their Q and A. Maybe sped up so that people could see it changing instead of just the end result of each season.

  7. I fully understand the word choice of "cosmetics." There is a huge difference between "store skins" and "in-game assets" that look cool but as a player unobtainable within the game. From my understanding crafting will work off of recipes and if a mob doesn't drop the recipe then you are sol. And they have never said that there will be a recipe for every store asset so who knows the odds, store=100% where as in-game=???.

  8. I hope they make mounts dynamic like they do in Guild wars 2. You can't have these fantastical creature basically there to give you 50% + faster movement speed. That is underwhelming for their presence in the game.

  9. I think you hit the nail on the head with working on x zones with skins, however im hoping that they decide skins to be unique and not used on NPCs cause they will lose their uniqueness

  10. Look back at the rush of players for New World, it was insane. I think this one is going to be even bigger. I haven't been able to really sink my teeth into an mmo since Wrath of the Lich King, so I'm really hoping this one can steal my job, wife, dog, ect…

  11. I am a little confused. Why would they create a racial area (asia) on the oposite end of the continent from the starting area? This would imply that there will be two areas per race (starting/racial lands) unless they shuffle the racial areas at launch.
