  1. I always liked the Champion Spawn system in UO. A very basic type of dynamic spawn in a way, but it progressed with harder and harder mobs instead of being fully static, and then ends with a unique boss for each type of spawn. And some of them were open for PvP so you could also fight over them with other players. GW2 does have systems like that and FF14 to an extent. I think they are good and fun but only UO I feel really tied it into the end game, since it was one of the best ways to make money and increase skill caps. I always feel like these systems in other games were only there for leveling and then are forgotten.

  2. Honestly, if they just copy most of gw2 stuff but do it like the fanbase wished it was done, the game would be legit the best mmo ever, seriously, it’s infuriating how gw2 had so many good ideias and they just ignored them for the sake of shit no one asked for

  3. This guy is a little bit like Quantum in thinking his opinion trumps that of others and calling them furries and coping when they do not agree, but at least he's having fun with it.
He like Asmon understands that this gives him more views.

  4. This game is going to die in 3months max. I don't understand the hype, maybe i'm dead inside like many others and i don't get excited anymore because life sucks. But that's my feeling, i hope for you, who is reading this, that the game will be good so you can have a bit of happiness even for a brief period of time. Don't give up skeleton.

  5. Ashes team wanted to do something that's integrated in the game world as opposed to large flashing text slamming the screen, so what if some NPC spawns barreling in on a mount shouting of an incoming attack by whatever like Goblins akin to Paul Revere warning of the British, or as what's been said have unique horns or war cries blasting in the distance to alert people for particular imminent world raids once a threshold of player numbers in proximity of a node city at certain stages is reached.

  6. GW 2 have more players than new world, and have new content too, I think we need to make Asmongold try it just to end this bully hehehehe <3 I mean its a really good way to play a new game with him and have fun, since lost ark is more solo gaming and wow expansion will take time

  7. Osrs has a really good dynamic world mechanic that caters to both the immersive experience and whatever. Shooting stars fall every 2 hours and players can use telescopes in their homes they can use to give them an approximate when and where it spawns. But telescopes have a construction requirement to use but you can just go to another players home. What I'm trying to say is that the requirement it has for new players discovering this feature would stop them from being spoiled while still rewarding already experienced players who already knew how it works.

  8. as a guild wars 2 player who's played it since the beta i will say a large reason why vanilla maps feel underpopulated or otherwise "dead" comes from how level boosters were added to the game so you can jump into the later game content faster on top of living story & expansion content being more accessible & replayable than the vanilla game.

story content up to LS season 2 was very "do once and only once" with a heavy emphasis on FOMO in season 1 which as at the time of posting this is all but gone from the game with southsun island, fractal of the mist & the aerher path of twilight arbor being the only reminder that it existed for new player. which is why they're now going back and remaking season 1 to be functionaly more in line with later seasons and expansions.

and as for level boosters even if you don't buy a level 80 boost from the shop the leveling from 1-80 is still nothing because anet basically throws free level boosts at you as a daily log in bonuses or for your character's birthday so they practically encourage you to skip the vanilla content. like hell, i'm sitting on enough boosts to level 4 or 5 new alts to 80 right now if i really wanted to and i never bought an 80 boost outside of the free one they give you when you buy expansions.

granted i haven't played the new expansion yet and i can't comment on the current content or state of the game right now since i took a 3-4 year break from the game after the icebrood filler arc.

  9. The thing about figuring out the node system to spawn events and bosses is that different nodes will also want to spawn their stuff. That is were the wars between nodes will happen. Deconstructing the mechanics might actually lead to more dynamic PVP content.

  10. this guy is hilarious, he shits on every mmo but he for some reason puts ashes on a pedestal, it would be absolutely hilarious if ashes decent and hit expectations hit a brick wall

  11. FF has hunts and fates – (fates work like world quests). I think these systems work well. Both systems have a base line – fates respawning fairly regularly, solo hunt marks respawning immediately after killed – and layered content – special fates have their own timers, A rank marks respawn every 6hrs, S and SS rank marks having special triggers and timers. They may not be as epic as og world bosses but they do have their moments – I love hunt trains and everyone getting a chance to show off their mounts, and the zone wide message going out when a special mob spawns.

  12. I for one don't have ridiculous hyped up expectations
I just always loved and had fun in more player driven games that aren't strictly PvP.
Although Foxhole is my main squeeze now, I'm just hoping to finally stick to an MMO for a longer while, I haven't played one seriously since SWTOR, and that one was only because I'm a SW fan
Just no other MMO did it for me
And Ashes looks and feels like it just might from what little o got to play.

Anyway, stay handsome lads and lasses
    And best wishes to Intrepid.

  13. I think that linear progression is a big part of wows popularity. The never ending quest to make your character stronger. Rare drop legendaries that are BiS and you can show off, but can not realistically be required to join a raid group. I think the element of coveting that glory was a big part of what drove the community.

Gw2 is phenomenal mechanically, but I think it lacks motivation to actually achieve anything which is why it is niche. Some people enjoy it for what it is, but a lot can't find purpose in playing it.

People shit on EverQuest but while WoW did have a larger player base, the EQ player base was far more invested in the game because achievement in EQ was hard to come by yet extremely rewarding. People got insanely addicted.

  14. We all know what's gonna happen. Why bother? Yeah, copium is bad, but let's not act like hopium is any better lol
AoC is gonna release, it's gonna be super fun on launch, fun for 2 to 3 months and then it's gonna die with only a niche community still playing it
I'd be happy to be wrong, I would. But I think I've seen enough new MMOs come out and be deserted the next year to really expect anything else

  15. Why do people watch that guy. All he does it think everything is similar to Guild Wars 2. A game could have pink hats and Aliens and the man would find a way to say Guild Wars 2 did it first. He's just mad because Guild Wars 2, while a decent game, never became great and has a small player base.

  16. 22:00 when I first tried WoW after it released I was exploring tirisfal glades and stumbled across the plaguelands and was like “oooh shit I bet this is gonna be cool” and worked to get closer to being there. I also thought the abomination guards in the undercity were hostile open world dungeon mobs like the previous game I played so I never knew the undead had a capitol city until I was level 37 and a friend I had made just..?? Ran past?? The abominations??!!

  17. I like how the chat was always griping about the graphics looking shitty, when the footage used was from Alpha-1, a older build of the game, compared to what they've shown in recent videos of them using UE5. I wish there was a way to just block the chat or something, it's so damn distracting at times.
