Hi, thanks for watching my video about Intrepid Games new upcoming MMORPG Project Ashes of Creation.

Ashes of Creation is an upcoming MMORPG by Intrepid Studios. Set in a backdrop of high fantasy, players will venture into a vast new world to explore and tame the wilderness. Ashes of Creation’s foundational node system means nearly the entirety of the world is built by player choice and actions! No two player experiences will feel the same – every server ebbs and flows with its own unique story and character all based on player choice.

  1. Not to quibble but there are 103 node locations and I would guess probably half of those will develope. But I do agree server mergers will be rocky at best. Which one stays and which one gets desolved? The transfer player will have to learn a new map. Will legendaries transfer? How about one of a kind items, will there now be two? Much to work out. Intrepid said mergers won't/can't happen but never say never.

Keep up your Ashes coverage. I would like to hear more…

And the fever/passion/hopium you encounter is probably due to the industry forgetting the players. Ashes is the last game that will be produced with the players in mind, the rest are cash grabs and profit pits. So the community is very protective of its future especially with all the nah sayers like 00kie who may not even know the systems (or he might). Just saying the community around this game are almost certain dedicated mmo players and neck beards so their passion may run a little deep…

  2. I made the cardinal YT sin of putting the “good stuff” in the second half 😂 You’re all the best and let’s figure out this dilemma together. Have a great day!

  3. Ashes of Creation will play very different than any other MMO ever created. Every server will develop different. What happens when a server gets shut down is unknown.

  4. You would be surprised what desperation will do to people, and the mmo community is very desperate. I personaly have been burt to many times to ever full believe in any game anymore but I will follow with an open mind

  5. There's an alarming amount of features that players will get tired of once the novelty wears off and I wonder what they plan to do to address it down the line.

  6. I've also thought this was an issue myself… And I agree, I don't think their "solution" is enough.

And I'm the same way, I can't think of a solution either. I think ultimately what might happen is, the lowest pop servers that get merged… Essentially get screwed. So the server with 3K population that gets merged into the server with 5K population, has to basically move over to the new server and the old server is essentially shut down. You probably get to transfer your citizenship to a same level node or something. Not ideal, but I can't think of anything better.

I mean maybe they can try to merge servers that have "similar" leveled nodes, but no two servers are supposed to be exactly the same either.

I highly doubt they would be open to this, but having an overflow server maybe is an idea at the start. So a copy of each server that allows more than 10K. Maybe up to like 15K. Then as the population calms down the overflow server is closed. Not sure if that works… But it's an idea
