Great video man. Teach me the secret to improving with every video! Keep it up.
as soon as you mention wedding tables it clicked lol and i was like….omg genius
The instant based housing (apartments) is a build initiated by the mayor. The citizens have to commit resources for the construction. This process is repeated to increase the population of the housing. They can continually increase the cost to build.
Well said and important point. Thanks! Knew about the soft caps on housing.. But didn't think of their effect on guild alliance. Love the wedding analogy. Other caps include merchant stalls, titles in node based social orgs (trader's, thieves, scholar) and prime freehold locations.
Perhaps I missed it but I didn't see the hook. All I saw was a limit to the node citizenship. What happens when the level 6 node is all from one guild, and the same guild occupied all the vassal nodes (since vassal nodes can't attack the parton guild). I don't see a huge detriment to mega guilds taking over a node and all the surrounding nodes as well…
I was hoping someone would bring up that quote. In the livestream Steven was asked what the intended priorities of loyalty are I.E. guild, Node, towns/cities. He does a good job of breaking down that your loyalty to your guild will not be as important as your loyalty to your town if the system is implemented to match Steven’s desired outcome. Meaning that a mega guild will be fragmented by design allowing for more potential player friction. Long story short, thanks for finding and presenting this, lol
Thumbs up for the videos and a nice well behaved, sober comment @_@ I apoligze for last time T__T
I could be wrong but i think most guilds will stay small for all the benefits. gamers like to min max their own potential and being a 300 size guild means you give up an assortment of guild benefits.
Gg!!!
Great video man, per usual. I have a question that you may have answered, but if so I missed it: Does each new citizenship increase the cost of living for each citizen in the node? Or does each new citizen just increase the price for the next new citizen to buy in?
U look like a buffed Lazypeon
Dont think as guilds, more like alliances… because guilds will be quite a small thing, as I understand. So you wil have guild politics vs alliance politics vs server politics like in Lineage 2. 🙂 You will be put in a place where you will have to eventually hurt someone and someone will hurt you, if you like it or not. 😀 Thats politics…
Back in early EQ a main reason for keeping your uberguild small was to limit the time it took to gear ppl up. By having a small dedicated Guild you could kill the first boss of the expansion first, and af since respawn was on a timer only your Guild knew, chance were that you could Block the kill for other guilds until you had finished farming the mob.
This mechanic was emergent, not by design, but quite effective through the first expansion.
Im happy to see mega guilds addressed. Personally I dislike the dps raids of some newer games, challenges like Emperor Ssra were amazing.
Does religion also play into stopping mega guilds/alliances?
people still use facebook?
I never liked Bob the Streamer anyways..
See it as, you might be able to get your guild to run a city or even multiple cities, but now you have put out every other player, which will cause them to attack a node so they can have a place.
Congratz on 1k subs man the grind hs only just begun
