Ashes Of Creation Is an upcoming MMO that I’m truly excited for. Recently we received a livestream detailing freeholds. After stream we found out via discord that players will have to get to level 50 in order to acquire freeholds. Here are my thoughts and thoughts gathered from the community about rushing to end game in Ashes and other MMOs.

how do you feel about rushing to 50? Will you get there fast as possible or take your time?
Every big hardcore no life toxic with high ego end game plans of players and their belonging guilds will rush for end game and within 3 or 7 days they will reach lvl 50 and get every end game content as soon as possible and noone can stop them… because in every new release mmorpg or fresh servers, this issue is exist. The only mmorpg you cannot do is that the Lineage 2; because of the leveling process and gear requirements to do farming in good areas at end game and it is similar to Lineage 2 castle sieges too.
We are getting old, it is already 7 years… and how many more years do we need to wait? Current gameplay of AoC still looks like pre-alpha gameplay 🙁 In my opinion, this game needs at least 5 more years to be come into a complete mmorpg for the first release.
Me either, this will be my last mmo i play. I want to enjoy it to its fullest.
Per your question, i dont see how poeple will rush to 50, they wont be able to do it without nodes advancing. I.e.nodes unlock the high level content.
Gamer first or world first is one of the plethroa of plauges wow has given us.
That is the normal now isn't it, rush through the game to stream it & make a bunch of videos on certain missions, quests, gear, raids, it's been the case for a few years now, a game comes out people rush through it then push the game to the side & call it trash
As a person who can't put in 16 hours a day into this game, I'm not rushing to lvl 50 since I have no chance of ever owning a freehold 🙂
First off, overall Ashes has many elements I really enjoy, like open world PvP (which seems it will be properly risk-reward incentivised). Concerning freeholds, definitely find some issues. I like their Node design a lot better. Now, some issues will always exist for anything that is limited, as freeholds are. Someone will always be complaining that they can't get one, that I personally don't care about. What I do care about is the rush that will occur. What I hope for is that any owned freehold has be 'active' or at least the owner is 'active' in various ways and thus 'deserves' to maintain ownership. Something that was really annoying in ArcheAge was how chunks of plots were simply claimed during the rush and never used, just sit there unfinished, as the owners waited for players to build up enough gold to purchase the plots. As long as some type of mechanism is in place to prevent that in AoC, I will be happy. The other issues I have are all minor and not worth talking about until the game is further a long. As for myself and 50, I'll probably play a lot and even though I won't be rushing, I'll get to 50 ahead of most (I think). No idea if I will try for a freehold or not, atm.
I know that I won't be in the freehold market. Maybe ever. I just hope that they don't tilt the balance too far one way or the other. Like if I can still do what I want to do (including high end crafting if I want) without having to worry too much about getting into that rat-race, I'll be fine. If it turns out not to be the case, I'll probably just not worry about being a high level crafter. You can always sell raw materials (assuming the economy doesn't go belly up and make this activity worthless like in New World, that is).
