  1. it's not primitive at all! it's actually hilariously good, if they keep it just that simple only by just building my baseline stat I'd be so happy… that would actually be a very very meaningful choice, because you might, for example, build your attack on critical damage and then you can wear faster weapons for example, I can imagine that rogue play… and there might be your friend with the same character, same items but yet completely different playstyle because he built his passives on cooldown reset or something like that… if they overcomplicate it, this game would be impossible to balance in pvp

  2. Second archetype passives is where characters will really begin to branch off in unique directions. With a potential 64 different combinations to choose from I think it could inspire some real creativity when choosing your playstyle.

  3. Thanks for the explanation video about the passive Narc. I have already shared your channel with some of my friends. Hope you get more recognition for the hard work you do.

  4. Feedback:
Next time you mention a whole lot of stats or new information, please list them as bullet points. It makes it easier to understand.
Other than that thanks for your channel. Can't wait for the NDA to get lifted 🤙

  5. I'm hoping I can build my Tank class into a sort of "Barbarian" type of character, a two-handed and light armour user, probably using agility/dodge stats for mitigation?

  6. I can’t believe you did it. You are such a sell out. OMG.
Lol, all right, you’ve earned your sub! Although I miss seeing buff Steven and the graph. Was gonna wait till he came back for a visit, but nah. Today is the day. Great content, great personality and humor. Gonna love following your growth to 100K. ❤️ 💯

  7. I think you're off base on your comments of the passives.

I had the same thought though, so don't get me wrong. I think there should definitely be things that allow for unique variety and choices in character build progression. However, passives aren't it. They should be just that, simple choices that pull your build in one of a few archetypal directions.

I think where they get creative is with talents for secondary archetypes, essentially passive or active talent choices for once you've picked your final "class" ,your chosen primary and secondary archetypes.

I think there should be a few extra avenues for build types also opened up by your weapon tree as well. With a basic passive setup like they have and a similar somewhat simplistic setup for weapons, it allows for the unique stuff to flow from archetype and weapon combo. Keeping the system from being entirely bloated, over complicated, and convoluted.

  8. Thank You Narc !!
Now all we need is for them to design this system so that it looks like a Tree
And have a mini game to water it ever day so that it can grow extra limbs so that is can support COSMETICS
    XD

  9. I’d rather they hold back on the passives, and just focus on balancing all the class combos.
They’ll have their hands full given that they have as many final classes as WoW, and blizzard often struggles to balance their 36 specs.

  10. I would see a Shapeshifter as a new archetype and Steven said most emphatically that there would be no new archetypes that haven't been already announced for AOC 1.0. That said I've looked into what archetypes Ashes doesn't have and it's pretty much just Shapeshifter and Tinker. Even make a spreadsheet with what the classes with them integrated into the 2×2 grid might be called.

Until we see the full class system in action though we can only speculate. One way I've looked at it is that a Shapeshifter/Ranger would be a druid in the sense that you think of. A Mage/Shapeshifter archetype could be a Blue Mage (doesn't need to be called that) where you mimic monster abilities. After all shapeshifting is a form of mimicry so there wouldn't need to be a Mimic archetype.

  11. All these people saying they want the skills to be done like WoW and comparing ashes to Wow… lmfao! You can tell a lot of Asmondgold people are coming here. Which is cool, I watch his videos too! But Ashes is not Wow! And most people have played a shitload of other games since they last played WoW like 15 years ago! So we're not interested in it being WoW like y'all are. lmao
Stephen played Archeage! He got his skills concepts, and there being an insane amount of class combinations, FROM PLAYING ARCHEAGE! <3 Just so folks have an idea of where he got it from. 🙂

  13. It would be nice to add elemental attunement for mage passive in the future. Like fire attunement improves damage and AoE, lightning for speed and accuracy, earth for defense and status resistance anf water for regen and increase in cc chance.

  14. I rather have the passives to add new aspects or gameplay mechanics of abilities and spells rather than just the raw stat increments. New talent spells and abilities would be nice too to spice up the classes.

  15. I agree you can have some more interesting passive that can combo well with secondry class and weapon skill choices. Some of the passives should also be your standard "boring" ones, i.e. bleeds last 2 seconds longer, combos with weapons skills that bleed which combos with active skills where bleeds also cause posion or whatever the comboooooos!
