Ashes of Creation – New Video Showcase of Tank Skills – 2021

Read more about Ashes of Creation ➜ https://ashesofcreation.mgn.tv

The brand new showcase is here, looking forward to some more of the non-magic types since they’re a bit less flashy than the mage/cleric we’ve seen so far. Looking good!

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world. Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay

  1. Having superb graphics and a nicely designed environment is a given these days for any MMORPG but if your character modeling, physics and skill animations aren't better than Black Desert online (Or any really good fighting game) you are wasting time. I won't be playing it.

  2. I'm not impressed feels like a multitude of skills from different mmos, like Aion GW2 WoW and others, i dont find any of the skill like some original or something that stands out.

  3. I don't know how I fully feel about the Skill animations in this game. I feel like the only reason I'm not turning into a salty bitch is its Ashes and they listen to the community.
I love animations with weight behind them. Not as far as having animation locks that last a long time but something that feels impactful. I know its being worked on so I hope they shift their animation game into a simpler style. I don't mean the effects but all of the unnecessary movement in almost all of the skills, outside the obvious like the chain pull.
For melee classes I would love to see the animations be within the realms of For Honor in the way the animations play out. Simple and clean.

  4. I love the vids, keep up the great work! I absolutely love Intrepid-AOC, been with them since early 2017! I love the vids they release & love the skills they show off! But I also understand that these probably won't be what we get at release! They continually make changes just look at APOC! I really hope the game does NOT release until 2022 or 2023, they need to take their time & NOT rush, PERIOD! Great Vid as always!

  5. The animations feel very early doors, surely they'll add more weight to the animations and actually make it believable. That Myrmidon skill was honestly pretty embarrassing, not sure why they showed that

  6. The problem with the animations is that there's no wind-up. Good animation in general will have a windup, which takes up quite a bit of time, the "punch" or "action" is often only very few frames, and then a cooldown of sorts will finish the animation. These animations miss the start and the end, there's no "lingering" or "windup" so the punches, the strikes etc. don't seem impactful, or rather, they seem weird because they miss those extremely important animations.

Edit: It looks like they're making them super fast, so they can be used while jumping and running around, but that kinda ruins the purpose in a sense, if the animations aren't really distinguishable anyway, why try to make them "flashy" if you're not gonna see them anyway.

  7. Cool and all but i really hope theres a talents/passives that make these abilities interact with eachother in interesting ways so were not just mindlessly pressing things off cooldown. Also hoping we get even more abilities

  8. tbh none of the abilities of any class that ive seen had any impact
its full of particle effects, but it just feels so weak

edit.: yh, i know its an alpha, but i think i still should be able to criticize those obvious flaws

  9. They seriously need to rework everything about combat. Something fundamental just seems off. If they dont do that soon, the game will flop massively. which would be shame. the game has alot going for it apart from its most important aspect.

  10. Most of those look animation locked and from the impression given dint have the desired impact, like why is the smash ability a trail of fire? would have given so much more impact if it caused crater sonic boom effect! Agree with your observation on the myrmidon too, it needs to feel impactful and animations need to look free flowing. Make the melee a physical effect not flashy spell effects etc.

  11. I feel like with animations how flashy it should be should be determined by the type of skill it is. Having just every skill flashy is a overload. And when in group settings it’s a mass overload. It’s a balance that can be hard to get right but I think getting it right is important for a game like this. Like skills like the lacerate keep the animation but take away a lot of the affects . Your using a sword you don’t need all that magic effect with it. The Javelin one is the cleanest one. Good animation not a lot of flash but looks flashy! And I think that is the balance you want with skills.

  12. Clunky. Long animations and complete character movement for every single skill is gonna make the combat clunky. Im sorry but after all of that feedback if this is still what they are doing with the combat I dont really have much hope with this game. Instead of a basic hand/arm lift and throwing a weapon, our character is completly taking our FULL control away from our hands and we need to wait for his silly spin on the air even after when we cast the skill. Atleast it seems like that from here. I mean there is no other way really. If we are able to control our charachter during a jumping skill animation then its gonna stop jumping in mid air somehow and start to walkt so thats gonna look even more weird. But yeah its gonna be so hard to play after experiencing fluid combat from BDO, Archeage, WOW and GW2 even. Even that shiel slam kind of skill is slamming the target TWICE so making and animation TWICE. I havent seen this in any other mmo. This game's combat seems almost worse than ESO.

  13. What is your opinion on Ashes not veering towards inserting threat meters and DPS meters into there game. For casual users i feel like this is a plus but for hardcore guilds i feel like its almost a must? what do u think?
