Intrepid Studios is about to hit a major milestone on their Ashes of Creation MMORPG project. They have finally reached a developmental milestone where they feel they can take down the NDA and finally allowed Content Creators and the community at large the opportunity to showcase their game instead of it being specifically curated developer footage.
We are past the point of this being a good idea or a bad idae. Intrepid has made the decision and now we get behind it. This doesn’t mean we didn’t have a good conversation about if it was a good idea. We certainly did, but the decision is made, now we support the product the best we can, we do a robust round of alpha testing, and we show it all; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Was watching Asmongold's FF14 stream this week and he emphatically mentioned AoC is 'finally coming out!' this weekend and he'll be streaming which was a huge red flag to me… nothing against Asmongold, but it sounds like his audience will have 'release' level expectations, not 'alpha'.
I'm excited to see the domino effect that is gonna happen, because the day it drops it will be all over YouTube and twitch which will possibly trickle out onto other social platforms with "famous" people possibly also talking about it to jump on the hype. The anticipation of endless possibilities is enticing to see.

Expectation are already out of control, to many people have hyped the game as if it's already the best mmo ever made, it's just the nature of the hype machine that is youtube.

I didn't think combat was all that bad. At least average imo. It's early on. It should be better than average by release. People need to calm down.
