The economy in upcoming MMORPG Ashes Of Creation has Potential to be very fun and rewarding to players. There will be a lot of risk and reward when it comes to gathering and acquiring materials which results in a fun sand box player driven economic system. While high value goods and high risk doesn’t always automatically = ‘good economy’ , I do feel it does equal most fun in terms for a video game. There’s so much other factors such as freeholds, freeholds processing, real estate, stock markets, anti bot mechanics etc that can make this mmo economy the best.

  2. That's what pissed me off about the archeage carebear community. They wanted safe same continent trade routes to give the same or better rewards than risky trade routes. Like bro that's dumb. Why would you ever take risk then when you're guaranteed good pays? They never see it from the other perspective that it would make the game boring asf with no one having any kind of troubles and just be a pure pve game.

  3. You may be right. I hope the player economy in Ashes rocks, it's a big reason I'm in on it.

    Two observations, though.

    In the real world, murder and theft so not serve to stimulate the economy, but to drag it down.

    Second, rhe non-tradeable currencies, while they are a barriee to real money transactions, could also grind the economy to a halt.

    We will see.

    Autumn is coming.

  4. Banning bot accounts and Intrepid perma banning gold buying accounts is the two things that will make the economy roar in AoC. If they can pull those two things off right… we are in for a great time in Ashes!

  5. So I wonder if NO one is going to do any crafting just due to a bunch of people ganking others. The way you are talking about the game makes it sound like it is going to be more of a Mad Max world. If it does turn out that way I think I might just sit back and attack the people that are doing the attacking not to kill them but to make them so weak they die, even against monsters. I will not get corruption as the monster should kill them but I will make it to where they dont wish to do it any more or make it not worth the effort. I know I would not get any drops from you, but I would also take away all the fun you where about to have.

You are saying that PKers and criminal are going to have a positive effect on the economy, let me ask you this how is that going for places in the real world like Chicago and Boston where stores are moving out of that city. You think that the game is going to some how change from real life. No I am sorry you will just have crafters give up on playing, much like you have companies giving up on cities where PKers and criminals are running wild.
