  1. Star Citizen might never release but the tech they develop for years and openly talked about is taking roots in ither games. Good!
A couple of years this was called impossible untill someone started developing this.

  2. "A brand new concept known as microservices" made me laugh my aess off. As a software engineer, this is the bogeyman of complexity and projects that move slow as hell, but have the capacity to scale extremely well. They better have world-class engineers on this project.

  3. New World limited the pvp thats what killed it. Only a select group of people could pvp and you had to be in good standing with wahtever guild controlled the land.

  4. See EverQuest 2 did this in beta, they had one server and just clone the zones and you just had to pick what number zone you wanted to go into to meet your friends. Then they launched with 400 servers for some bizarre reason and the game died a week later when WoW came out.

  5. Even tho this game looks like it's not for me, I really do hope it's good enough to get an audience and scores a decent win.
We didn't get any decent MMO in quite some time and it would be a shame if the genre stagnated.

  6. Albion Online was doing a one server for all for years. They eventually split into East, West and EU servers cause of ping as playing from Asia, players had 250+ ping while EU had 120-160 depending on location. Still, the game has 3 Wolds now (3 servers) and is still going strong. Years later they are now telling me that a new MMO is introducing this revolutionary idea of having a single server. I mean, they should at least do their research before claiming that they are coming up with new concepts 🙂 I actually see quite a number of Albion mechanics being promoted as something fresh cause some people don't even realise it's all been done for years now.

  7. Cant be a scam. The company has grown to HUNDREDS of devs over the years.
I follow this development since the START of the first news.
    10-12 years by now.

No scam. Never. Too long for scam. Too big now.

  8. Sounds more like mass load balanced instancing, you'll probably find areas have instances, grouping players by friends, groups and level or something.

Remember walking into iron forge on guild raid days, on the family PC during with integrated graphics and 1gb of ram 😂😂😂😂 beep bob beep bop… I've fallen in the lava🔥

Just think millions of players all trying to kill the same world boss… it has to have instances otherwise areas will be overloaded with players

  9. Yeah seems someone needs to break down what's it actually about to asmon because he & audience didn't understood shit and completely misunderstood the "all on the same server" thingy

  11. the new dungeon mechanisms is why Asmongold should be interested, open-world dungeons, gate kept by skill check bosses, with dungeon meshing, and scalability that prevents zerging

  12. I haven't watched Ashes presentation of it, but Narc has no idea what he's talking about, and you should not take this video as an explanation for their Server networking. He lost me as soon as he stated, verbatim, "…Intrepid has created a brand new concept known as Microservices".

This is not true. Microservices have existed for more than a decade. Everything leading up to that was wrong, and most of what I've heard him explain was just flat out wrong or misunderstood.
