Intrepid Studios held their monthly livestream this past. Lots of good stuff is coming this month. Steven demonstrated some great leadership by sending a food truck over to the Activision Blizzard while they were doing a walk out, but the best part was he didn’t turn it into a PR stunt. In fact, nobody at Intrepid even mentioned it on social media, it was an Activision Blizzard developer who posted it on the Ashes of Creation reddit. We also got to hear Intrepid talk about the future of testing from Alpha 1 to Alpha 2. Finally we got some rapid fire Q&A to clean up some of the things we weren’t quite sure of. Of course like every good Q&A session we were left with more questions, which we will have to get from Steven.
As mentioned in the Livestream the new PGN Music Spotify is here: https://artists.spotify.com/c/artist/4qZWTa2bhoPr2AOsANBazT/profile/overview Streamers can use this music during their livestreams without risk of DMCA or copyright infringement strikes.

Is my idea or that effect that leave the white sword when it attack feels kinda anime?
I would like that the arrows and bow will be two different items, both crafteable, so a bow could have and specific damage statistics per shot, and the arrows can provide and special bonus damage again and specific class of enemy, by example, holy arrows that give plus 10% damage against undead. And that bonus could upgrade whit the quality of the arrow itself
Anything that makes a player need to buy or craft ammunition in order to use their weapon would be unfairly weighted against them unless… Yea, I'm not even sure. It makes sense to NEED ammo, but it's also a pvp game so I don't know.
DDoS attacks. Wow. Haters are gonna go that far, huh? I wish they'd use that knowledge for something more constructive.
I like arrows being a limited resource so Rangers would need to swap between bow and a melee weapon when they run out of arrows, and creates an extra layer of complexity in which Rangers need to manage their arrow count during raids to be sure they have enough to fight the bosses in the dungeons…
Love the work you put in and info you share with us.
Just watched the video live on stream! We loved it! Then we discussed the Ranger/Ammo Question you asked. These are community ideas: 1) have to craft base arrows 2) Every different type of arrow exists inside of Quivers you get. You equip them to use fire arrows or ice arrows 3) Just like Mana recharges out of combat, arrows or ranged ammo recharges out of combat 4) Base arrow attack is like the "Q" attack and has infi, but all other arrows do not. Just some fun ideas from chat! Thanks for the video and update
I've been hoping to have a character with optimized move speed. So for times I want to fight they can't run away easily or when I need to bail I can find a haven to recover in.
Q: Have you heard of speed modifiers besides sprinting / attacks that have been modified ex rush with TP
Was waiting for your video since the livestream (had no time to watch the whole thing), and was worth it. First time I heard about what Steven and the team did for the Blizzard staff. Such an amazing gesture.
I'm fine with bows requiring arrows if archer's dps is a bit higher than mage's or melees'. Otherwise I'd prefer everyone to be free of costs for just doing the most basic thing a player can do.
I think carrying arrows is the kind of thing that starts of interesting and after a while gets really annoying. First of all it will clutter your inventory. Second, there will be times where a ranger forgets to take enough arrows to a dungeon or raid and everyone will get annoyed by it. Since there is no fast travel I would not risk it and remove it entirely. It just does not add fun. Also feels negatively biased against ranger compared to other archetypes.
2:30 THIS! YES!
I really like your new frame, it's a keeper.
Real talk that lady in the into was playing on a controller and unless I am mistaken that are not starting off having a controller supported?
i suggest having to make the first few arrows and then the rest magically appear, much like the wire hangers in my closet,
I think actually carrying projectiles (or multiple types) will help you connect with the character. I have played games where you didn't have to keep up with the inventory and the experience felt lacking. Perhaps a free base arrow types or two then the higher level ones need to be crafted. Perhaps not as involved as the bow but yes crafted.
I don’t like carrying projectiles for my ranged weapons. While this is more realistic, melee and magic based weapons do not have this and this pushes me towards these options. There’s nothing worse than running out of projectiles while traveling, managing bag space/weight with them, or the constant crafting and gold sink they become.
melee combat looking good! I'm keen to play Ranger/Mage and would be concerned about projectile ammo limits. perhaps after ammo is depleted certain classes like Ranger/Mage can shoot "magic" ammo for diminishing damage? having a physical ammo cap would be an interesting combat mechanic
Excellent video for someone who has been too busy to keep up on the day to day. Concise.
No ammo. In a game with limited resources, space, and travel restrictions, it would feel punishing for rangers to be out for long periods of time.
If the game was solely action combat I think it would be reasonable since the bow could be balanced to be far stronger, considering everything has to be aimed (basic attacks included).
Steven is hella wholesome
I do like limited arrows. And i plan on playing a ranger/Falconer. They just shouldn't be too expansive. It could be balanced by lower repair cost/mat cost for repairing bows.
