  1. So, the crafting system with a gameplay feature is a very cool idea. If they can execute it correctly, crafting might actually be skillful AND fun and lead to some crazy good gear depending on how hard the minigame is.

    I'm going to reference SAO Abridged(look it up on YouTube it's very good) episode 7 or 8 where the blacksmith creating one of the best Swords in the game from a boss drop material goes throught like 3 different mini games at the same time and it's insane and nearly impossible but it looks fun and like the skill cap could make for some truely remarkable things. Imagine for a moment the top blacksmith in a server is a streamer or youtuber that just crafts things on stream to show their skill in their craft because the game is challenging and the rewards are great.

The most telling part of this game is how much time they spent making it look pretty and polishing those UE store assets well before the gameplay loop dev has even started, let alone fleshed out from a design prospective. This just points that this "game" is meant to draw in the whales with the shinies.

  3. swg did all this 20 years ago better than any one , nice to see it all coming back , armour smiths make the best armour in the game creature handlers made the best mounts in the game and so on , i loved this and it made swg community the best…

I wanted my high but this wasnt it. I need nee AoC news does anyone know where can I get it? Just alittle bit? To um tide me over??

  5. Not sure if I'm misunderstanding this, but say I wanted to be an alchemist mage. Would I ONLY be able to truly master alchemy? (a processing profession?) or would I be able to master herbalism as well? Feel like being proficient in 1 job per artisan category would be best (gather, process, craft). That way everybody also gets to craft high quality items of some sort (and engage in those mini games as well). Also, I would hate walking by highly valuable herbs as an alchemist, but the game won't allow me to pick it up, or it's like way less efficient/chance to fail, whatever.

    I also think that most processing, by comparison, would probably be the most boring category. Turning mined ore into ingots probably ain't that exciting compared to exploring the game world to find rare ores or crafting a legendary sword.

  6. I am 100% on board with his crafting design in the game where crafted gear is the best gear, because like he said you go to all that trouble to make gear that no one wants and can get somewhere else with little effort.

  7. Would be cool to have a mmo where you can actually just be a crafter or gatherer without ever being pushed into combat or pressured into creating a combat alt.

  8. 2:16 – From my experience this basically means that an individual or a guild will have a bunch of alts, which actually just makes life a bit harder instead of increasing social interaction

  9. The perfect crafting for me:
    Choose design (skin) that consist of few zones
    Each zone could use different materials providing different texture and stats. (So for example you could make denim jacket resistant to cut dmg, or you could make same design leather jacket resistant to stab damage. On top of that you could populate different zones of design, so you could add woolen inside for extra hear resistance etc.
    The most important part would be is what you use is what you get. The closest game in that regards would be FFXIV base game, where you actually can see material texture chaning depending on material used, and if it included gems etc, you actually seen em in final product.
