Kickstarter Projects have always been let downs. 100% of kick starters projects have either stalled into nothingness or been completely outed as scams. However… As Ashes of Creation begins picking up momentum the game is beginning to truely look like it will become more than just a dream and I wanted to discuss with with you all in today’s video.
We’ll be announcing the details of the upcoming watch party in the discord tomorrow so some join your brothers and sisters high on the copium, and having a laugh with us as we discuss all things MMORPGs:

I am ready mighty Algore
FOMO is completely fine. If they want to add in a legendary item that is only available for a limited time and is incredibly difficult to obtain, I'm 100% all for that. But regardless of their reasoning, MTX will always be a deal breaker for me. I refuse to support any game that adds in any kind of shop where you can buy things in game whether it's p2w or purely cosmetic. If that means I'll never play any new MMOs, so be it.
1000% grade copium won't get me to play blizzard games ever again after almost 17 years of on and off play. Shame on you Blizzard, shame shame shame! FOR NARNIA!!!
Oh look, another Youtuber shitting on SC.
/yawn
Amazing ✊🏽 💋👌
I'm gonna be honest bro, I want ashes of creation so succeed but I'm probably not gonna play it only due to it being sub based (as far as i know). Yeah im paying a wow sub but that's because im fucking addicted and i need help. Its a toxic relationship…
intensiv purposes ^.^
Obviously, we need as much pay to win as we can get. This game won't survive unless they start creating packs and I don't mean Supreme packs, I mean SUPER SUPREME PACKS that are so pay to win that no one, not even Jeff Bezos, can keep up. WE absolutely need them. It's the future of gaming and I want to have to spend my baby formula and gas money on a video game. Please Steven, change your mind and give us what we need…PAY TO WIN! Oh wait. It's going to be cosmetics, vanity pets and stuff like that? How does Intrepid intend on making money? Do they actually plan on making a great product and hoping it generates enough money with just a subscription fee and cosmetics? HA HA HA HA HA HA.
This dude… Everytime he talk why Ashes of Creation is not a scam he always mention other game that sucks.. "New World sucks which means Ashes is not a scam". I mean they use the MMO money to make a battle royal and mask it as "test" while selling cosmetics on the said test. They are selling a dream like Star Citizen.. They make updates about shiny things like character creation, dynamic season, etc. so you would spend $500 on Alpha test in which they say they don't need the money because they have enough to finish the game.. Yeaaah right. They sell cosmetics on an Alpha battle royale but they have enough money..
I for one shall wear my plain jane in game armour set with pride and make it a point to hunt down christmas tree whales out of spite.
He's one of ours, he's one of ours. GOAT.
Agreed I'd rather have to tolerate fomo if it means I get the actual mmo. 😆
3:50 – This is me and I stand by it except I play retail WoW, not New World 🙂
I love both projects.
They both plan to allow experiences not offered anywhere else; and experiences we’ve all wanted to have in a video game.
I’ve been following both projects very closely and SC will be every bit as extraordinary as AoC.
I wanna Linage 2 but with new graphic
how should I grap a Copa COla when there is NONE I need ONE
There are things I like about both Ashes and Pantheon. Ashes is pretty, but they're using the same monetization garbage that has ruined this genre. If they continue on this path I'd rather support a different company with my money and time. Pantheon is a bit dated but the monetization is fair and respectable. At least the devs of Pantheon look at their community as more than just piggy banks to exploit.
I honestly hope your level of copium will result in a perfect game. You are comfortable pointing fingers at games that released their product and lasted years of amazing content even if they have lost their way lately (WoW) and to speak as if you can guarantee there wont be any scope creep or bug (Star Citizen). AOC has not even finished putting together all the things they claim to be bringing. As always, we shall see. Hindsight is always much better.
See I think the cosmetics, even if you don't care about them, is a really good thing, they are showing you monthly that they actually are working on something consistently month after month year after year.
I mean, we could have had another Chronicles of Elyria right?
One of the things I always liked about both the Ashes community and the Pantheon community was the deep respect each had for the other game, starting with Steven and Chris "Joppa" Perkins, and continued with the wonderful and sadly missed "Disparate Worlds" series that Moxys and Sechari put on. Their point/counterpoint was always classy and supportive of both teams effort.
You've destroyed that history with this video, and I'm greatly disappointed. I still support Pantheon and AoC both, but now…not you.
day 1068: Narc is still milking the untextured dwarf from Pantheon
I have great hope for ashes… but I think you're off base on star citizen, basing your commentary on the project from a mostly uninformed perspective of uninformed streamers who just jumped on the project.
As it stands right now ashes is more vaporware than star citizen, but only because the development style chosen by each developer is different. Star citizen is sometimes now, and was before, too open of development, choosing to disclose every single minute detail. Where as intrepid has kept much close to their chest only revealing things when they think it fit for the community. Though… I could point out things like their battle royal which didn't win a lot of hearts or minds in the broader community and is one of the many earlier decisions that cast doubt on this project.
Regardless, I think intrepid as much improved their plans for releasing content to the public eye and it has gone a long way in providing hope in the future of the project. But as someone who has very closely followed star citizen as well, the changes and improvements over the last few years to that project are impressive, and the tools and systems they are designing there will change some sectors of the games industry.
Just like I think some of things intrepid is trying to do could as well.
Having said all that, and being given some bread crumbs with their recent showings of the weather and character creator, I think intrepid is has built up some good faith. But they have a metric crap ton of systems that we have yet to see in action that are all center and crucial to the games core design philosophies. Until we see those in place and running or working near to or at the levels they've promised Ashes is still just vaporware. All the art and assets and engine changes won't matter if 95% of the games systems just don't exist or work as promised, and boy have they made some claims.
I don't say this to crap on them. I am filled with the hopium that they pull it off, but the realist in me pulls me back to caution me to not hope too much, because we haven't seen any of it actually working together to create the clichéd "living breathing world".
While star citizen and cloud imperium can always use a healthy dose of criticism and caution, I guess I'm just tired of all the baseless dog piling I consistently see on the internet from people who have clearly spent little to no time with the project.
Buggy as it may be there are experiences to be had already that you just can't have anywhere else right now or by the look of it anytime soon. And if and when a more final version releases it will be a hell of an accomplishment.
End rant.
I hope intrepid can learn from the short comings of other studios, which it seems they have a pretty solid plan of action, and they can deliver us the passion project they promised years ago.
Unfortunately, you are absolutely right. VR really doesn't do itself any favors when they show crappy-looking content. I like Joppa's descriptions of the game much more than what Steven says, I don't think the node mechanic is particularly innovative.
In contrast, Perception System, Dispositions and Traits sound very interesting to me.
Mark my word
This punk will soon cover Pantheon Rise of the Fallen by saying finally it's not that bad
Just to milk another MMorpg
Bum !
Well, that was a click-bait title. Who cares how different it is from a 'developers view'? I care how game play is different. I don't care about system flaws or code failures because that can be fixed. I don't care about all of these other MMO's you spent more time talking about than Ashes of Creation. What I care about is how *GAME PLAY* is different because so far, I don't see a single new idea, much less a new element. But you didn't answer that, instead you're talking about the team behind the game, not the game.
And congratulations on being one of those that thinks illicit FOMO marketing tactics is 'good' and ethical marketing. Fear is a tool used to control people.
Dude your getting better and better at making videos. I think its just a matter of time for you audiance to keep expanding.
