Intrepid Studios creative director Steven Sharif announced on discord today that they are delaying the December live stream by one week to prepare for a massive announcement integral to the development of Ashes of Creation. What could it be? I think it’s an announcement about Alpha 2, but it could be about the content creator program, combat updates, hiring details are any numbers of other things.

I'd be excited for it to be alpha 2. I can't play in the alpha since I don't have a computer, but I am looking forward to more gameplay and seeing the path ashes is on, and speculating as to how it's going to turn out. One of the most fun things to me at least is how I can speculate so much about this game because it has so much potential and opportunity.
I can't imagine it'd be much else then the alpha, but maybe it's about progress in multiple areas of the game. 🤔
Such as node progression effecting the surroundings, which we didn't see in alpha one. Paired with boss difficulty increasing based on your progress, damage, and time in dungeons and raids. Adding in more to the crafting system since alpha 1 it wasn't really flushed out much at all. As well as having more of the classes set up to be usable. If it wasn't alpha 2 I would expect something on this scale where multiple systems and things are all coming together at the same time to be shown off.
That aside, great job on the channel and the videos!
Hope alpha 2 comes soon. Excited to play/ test this game. Sadly arrive to late to try out alpha 1

Could even be that they're going to be using unreal 5 since they've been looking into it for a while with no updates.
Could be a major system theyve completed and want to show off or announce.
Or maybe they hired a lead writer and to replace the one they lost. Thats pretty integral to completing the games content.
I of course hope its some test news maybe A2.
Could be Alpha 2. Or it could be that they going UE5. But my guess is both are longshots and people will be setup for dissapointment
They're announcing a new mount.
Im more worried its to do with tab and action targeting. I know theyve struggle with that for a while. Ive also not kept up tho so i dunno of thats been resolved yet
I think announcing alpha 2 is asking a little much, especially if it wouldn’t be until spring. No way they can predict development that far out. I expect something more along the lines of a major feature or engineering tech that helps developers. Maybe they have a new combat prototype to show off, combat is pretty critical to the development at this stage.
Hey Xillin, Its Vlhadus here. Sadly, I don't think its going to be them announcing Alpha 2 cause they don't need to delay one week to just announce that. I believe they are going to show off their updated Character Creation system on us. They have been talking about that for a bit lately so I think that's what it is. Now, I'm not saying they won't announce Alpha 2 at the end of the stream too. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME but I think its more Character Creation. Just my two cents…
As much as I hope for it I don't think " integral component of the development" means alpha 2. It's a component, nothing else. Probably something they have finished or a huge new system.
Could be alpha 2, could be a big combat reveal, could be the node system. IT COULD BE SO MUCH AND I NEED TO KNOW! And I have to work when they are streaming it 🙁

I first took it as the announcement of the new lead game designer to fill Jeffery Bard's big shoes. But Alpha 2 would be nice.
