With this months Cleric Update Ashes of Creation have begun to show huge improvements to their spell effect design and in todays video we’re going to be looking back through these spells, giving some feedback and even redesigning a few to my own tastes.

  2. the fact that Steve keeps the dev updates this open is still a significant boon for the game as it develops. It's not often that players (outside of Alpha testers) are given the opportunity to make much impact on a game that is still in development. We have a rare opportunity here to help steer them in the direction that could make a considerable difference to the end product.

    Side note, your photo shop version of the spell is a better option. I'd also like them to tone down certain effects and aim for a more minimal/natural appearance.

    Side, side note. BG3 is $^#%ing awesome, so for anyone who has been on the fence about trying it, give it a shot. Larian have done an outstanding job with it.

  3. With the temp HP/shields, do you prefer it to be displayed in the HP bar as text like 120/100, 100/100 + 20 (in blue) or not displayed at all and just have the visual representation of the bar?

  4. I absolutely love the 3rd resource that has 2 functions especially for a healer! It can be used to turn any hold down for power enhancement into an instant cast. If you save it it enhances all your spells! This makes for a highly versatile mechanic!

  5. Maybe if the lines were reduced in circumference and shorter duration. It's too much but if it flashes so brief that you barely see it, that might be worth it otherwise i guess that it's too much.

  6. I don't like the rainbow portion. I'd rather it be a gold/yellow base with room to change color based on class augment if thats the route they want to go but rainbow is bleh.

  7. I'm not sure about the dust effect after a dash. It might look weird depending on the ground. To make things simple, it should work both on grass, parquet, concrete. Or would you ask them to make different "dust" effects depending on the ground? It seems an excessive work to me.

  8. I think my biggest complaint about the spell effects since the beginning is they don’t fit the western mmo world they went for. Felt more cartoon like with lots of sparkles. Cleric is definitely their best so far, so it seems they are getting a better idea with time.

  9. 1.Yes, lines are immersion breaking. What I suggest is that holy ball to reduce to a dot and then explode-Like Big Bang.
    2.That shockwave spell is good, but it has too big of an arc. I would love if it was way narrower, but that it travels further.
    3. You are god damn genius. I love the dust with sparkly gold bits idea.
