I can't agree with the full take on it. I played the demo of this few years back and I was in love , I think the game is going to offer enough to appeal to a lot of people and I think the systems will help casuals find their path and or others to group with and bond creating a long term experience. I don't see the game being an END ALL OMG ITS THE GREATEST , that will be determined in time of course , But I think it's got a lot of potential for both niche crowds.
Good take and vod sir !
I told my friend "OOoo a new video Ashes of creation has a fundemental flaw!" Friend: "Yea. Its not coming out" true
Damn it I thought this was finally the elune video.
I wanted to buy some cheaper air pods and I couldn't decide because of how many different ones there are. I'm just gonna get an aux adapter.
The biggest problem I see it having is being a sandbox mmo that's hyped as a wow killer. Wow has a rich story for sure and people will likely go into it expecting it to have a story, only to discover that there is none. I'll be playing it for sure. I'm just hoping for a game that is similar to SWG.
We will see how it does. I hope it is as good as people are expecting. but i am just not going to get over hyped.
Can I find a class on how to get better at wow on skillshare or am I just hopeless
Accolonn your eyes looks so cute acco my dude <3
Game looks okeish in my opinion. But mark my words Accolonn ! Once alpha comes out, and people complain how game suck. They gonna be ''OH IT'S ALPHA'' then it's going to be same old trend that we seen countless of times in other games.
Ultima online. The realm by Sierra. Everquest. As a fan of mmorpgs. Remember war hammer and all the other successful at launch mmos. There's a reason final fantasy is succeeding. It takes dedication. And long term planning. Something the japanese are good at.i love warcraft. But they need to get there shit together. If Bobby kotick wants a more positive image then the devil he can get on that .
Okay so i get what your saying but at the same time i think your wrong. The game isn't the same as other mmo's that are like rollercoasters.. or theme park mmo's. this one is going to be more of a sandbox like another game with so much to do in it runescape.. 24 completely different skills.. tons of different PVE bosses. there is PvP and different pvp meta's.. Quests ect.. The game is to make your own path and do what you enjoy and create your own fun.
I see ashes in a very similar light.. your going to be put into the world with a ton of different things to do and your not forced down one path. .you will get to do what you want and play the game the way you think will be fun.. If you want to be a hardcore Pve raider you will do that. if you want to be a bandit that kills players and steals there shit you will do that. If you want to be a skiller and make crafted goods and make money you will do that. But you don't need to do all of it to be successful and thats the glory of it.
If you like that economy, auction plays, Albion online has that system
Every city has its auctuon hause, and you live from trading between them
Since long a while i see this game same as you Acco. People just need such level hype they lost long a go , not a revolutionary game imo
I thought wrestler Kevin Owens had taken over today's stream
That's the exact reason I couldn't get into ESO
put ur glasses back pls, you look weird without them
Ashes of Creation is going to be a mustard burp in a cosmic universe …..its almost like Accolyn knows his stuff
I've been following this game since the beginning. I feel they should slowly implement some of these systems.
I think they may have hinted at this with Naval combat in their last video.
Good video sir.
Woah mr. ACCO Is lookin good. You look more at peace and refreshed. Glad to see ya in a good place, much success.
I always felt like the entire MMO genre was never for the casual player. You can play a specific MMO casually, but if you play MMOs, you're already a hardcore player.
I do agree that perhaps casual might be lost, but I'm also wary of thinking every casual MMO player is too dumb to understand what's going on. Some might argue to some extent a dedicated hardcore playerbase might be enough to guarantee its success and sustainability.
It also appears you're ignoring the fact that there will be story quests that will guide players to some extent early on.
If people are capable of playing games like Skyrim, where you might as well go off and do your own thing, they are capable of doing so in Ashes of Creation as well.
LOL nice opening
LOL nice opening
You never played silk road did you??? The caravans sound awesome and familiar
GW2 I felt this way. Played it at the start and coming back many years later I felt overwhelmed by how much there was to do. Even getting a mount was a major task and there were like 7 mounts.
First time viewer here. Thanks, for the video.
I think I agree with you that this might be a serious issue AoC may face, however I feel it's a tad early to tell when we don't know the pace of how we're introduced to these systems yet or how extensive they will actually be when they're out of Steven's head (Creative Director & Hype Train Jesus).
I also feel like even if there weren't so many systems, AoCs core (Open world PvP, Nodes, etc) is itself potentially quite hardcore for casuals to get into as is.
Some unrelated stuff:
As a first time viewer I felt like the intro of the video was way too long (with your intro and sponsor it was like 5 minutes). The video would have been self explanatory without the intro bit I think (not referring to the sponsor segment of course). Please don't take this the wrong way, great video.
Also, why do you refer to yourself as a colon? Kappa
Can confirm, when Lx wants you to do something, you do it. Mans like a Rottweiler, does not let go.
I have to somewhat disagree with your take on the sensory overload problem, and I am very much a casual.
For example when I got into BDO I didn't know how the ship stuff worked for the first real life YEAR of playing and it didn't matter. In fact it made the game more fun when I knew there was more out there to learn.
The only thing is that the game needs to slowly introduce these systems to the player while playing or just make them non- mandatory. And since the developers have already stated that the leveling will take a long time it should be somewhat easy to space out the introduction of these systems without having to make them not available at all at launch.
I appreciate the video and the interesting points though. 👍🙂
