  1. I'll be interested if they actually show a full instanced dungeon run, a full raid boss fight with all players etc.. not just running around fucking around doing nothing killing mobs in the world lol

  2. did he say the good mount system in Guild Wars 2? I know I haven't played in a long time, but last time I played they didn't even have a mount system. Did they add one?

  3. I agree that this game looks kinda better now, has more ArcheAge vibe to it (the director was AA fan – actually big whale), but it still has this free Unity assets feel… It doesn't look interesting at all. And they never showed their big ideas working, they just walking around and talking and showing progress becuase… they've changed fire ball animation… like really? And the worst part is that people applaud them for this. I would love to see some REAL stuff, and as far as I know Pre Alpha without NDA will be soon but I am 100% sure most promised things will be not there and it will be very dry. I don't really understand the hype for this game. I am simply not that easily bought.

  4. what worries me is people saying "yeah the game is already founded", "steven founded it with his own money" etc, and at the same time they have already a cash shop and expensive preorder packs i bet they already make the money back with all the preorders and it doesnt matter if they deliver a good game or not…

  5. Although we all initially think questing should be fun and engaging, almost every MMO that has had great questing are usually a bust, swtor and newer wow comes to mind. Im not a expert but it takes alot of resources and leaves the meat and potatoes lacking. I think the best example of questing was Wotlk era wow. The zones had there own story but also the overarching scourge expansion story. Even the quest hubs had a smaller story just to themselves and would have some less serious quest or non traditional quests. Dont get me started with wrathgate cutscene/seige of undercity. Dont get me wrong on paper shadowlands has the same formula but its so expected now its jist a gimmick and everything you do just fills like why am I bothering with this the big baddie is out there and that all we are worried about!

  6. big up Skylent, speaking facts. Honestly, from watching the stream, i too felt like they were being vague but i just felt like they just started working on combat so i wasn't too fussed that they were rambling on about what they're going to do with it (quite late but they finally fixed that fire ball animation, a lot more improvements are needed still for all the skills, combat should feel fluid and fun, but at the same time, there's nothing wrong with some rooted high impactful skills like gw2's staff elementalist meteor shower/ bdo's staff wizard or witch meteor, or for support, gw2's guardian empower skill for might boon and strong pulsing heals, or bdo's wizard/ witch's pulse heal skill).
I'm glad you brought up about questing, i didn't think much about it, since i'm an endgame type of player, but i'm glad you did, i feel that passion, it would be amazing if they polished questing, it made me remember some cool moments on vanilla gw2 which i still remember. I do want to enjoy the levelling experience, and possibly for it to be challenging so that fellow mmo players running around in the open world can help each other, which could lead to new friends through socialising. Also it could lead to players bringing team oriented skills even while levelling and questing, instead of using selfish skills then only getting used to team oriented skills at endgame.
Yh i loved the pressure valheim pve gave when running around, it made you always be on your toes, mobs chasing you for ages, mobs applying conditions like poison, trolls being huge and shake the ground as they charge towards you, a great pve experience.
I agree with black hole being a cool skill with potential and i want more skills like that. As a player that prefers doing organised medium to large scale pvp from gw2 (WvW), and being a small group ganking a medium sized group, i want to see more skills that could lead to some cool co-ordinated bombs etc. It would really ramp up the skill level of the game, and Skylent at 19:26 you had great ideas like an AoE wind wall knockback. I really do hope they take inspiration from gw2 combat, the balance of gw2 has been all over the place but the fact that they had skills that promoted different classes to work together (for example: vanilla gw2: waterfield combo field + other players using blast finishers = AoE healing for 5 players. Current gw2: spellbreaker bubble elite skill, to prevent boon application and to boon rip + boon rip skills from other players + hard cc skills like mesmer gravity well to pull 5 enemies = a strong lockdown to catch players to bomb) , but at the same time, different classes filled different roles which are all required to win fights (guardians always provided strong boon applications required to charge into the enemy or survive, necromancers had wells which were always used as high spike damage when multiple necros used them together, and each well did high damage on 5 targets and each necro has 2 wells, etc.). That has always been the case in gw2 which is why i stuck around it and kept going back to it for 9 years i think now (no other game has done it better imo so i keep going back to it, i want a game to surpass gw2's team oriented fluid combat). Working together is addictive when pulled off right, and things get competitive between enemy guilds, which always lead to pride, admiration, fear, a drive to improve, etc.
But yh i haven't watched your videos in a long time, but i'm glad i did with this one, because i like people who speak the truth and are passionate about this genre, and i'm looking forward to future videos. You made me want to type this much which i never usually do haha. I want mmos to return back to how glorious it once was, because new mmos have been failing constantly for years and as much as i loved the genre, i'm slowly starting to give up on it. Heck, my irl friends still wonder why i'm still playing a 9yr old game of a genre that people rarely play nowadays. I've stuck around for the nostalgia and friends i've made in these old mmos during the peak like gw2 vanilla WvW, but the nostalgia is running out. So i hope Ashes isn't going to be that mmo like the other new ones were you play then drop it after a month. We need a polished one to really breathe life back into the genre and make mmorpgs great again.

  7. I gotta say man. I love mmorpg games. But these days im so tired of company,s showing of new good looking mmorpg games but then you have to wait like 3 years. Whats the point. Look at arc age we dont even have a western release yet. By the time these games come out no one cares any more.

  8. I agree with what you said about the quests. But the devs have said in the past that these quests are placeholder. They want to keep the lore secret as long as possible. And the real quests will come in the game around beta. But I agree with you point on these quests.
