With the latest Ashes of Creation Livestream revealing the Tank Archetype… a large majority of the community were up in arms about what they saw, but not for the reasons you might expect.
In todays video we discuss the drama and highlight the importance of a human presence during presentations like Ashes of Creations Monthly Livestreams.

*Malding middle aged manchild complains about negativity towards a scam*
If you’re looking for a community to hang out in that isn’t a toxic cesspit then… well I can’t really recommend my own discord tbh but I’ll link it for you anyway:https://discord.gg/muwNp8NhbB

  2. The first stream was terrible for the tank. Steven needs to make sure he allocates the time to produce a professional stream. He hired a director to help him do that. The second release was much better. From the looks of it the Devs needed to go back into the code and increase aggro generation of the tank or reduce it on the DPS and healing classes. Steven needs to take the time to do a dry run on a stream and follow a script.

The people complaining about every minute details is complete BS. This game is in Alpha and no matter how many times you tell them that idiots with zero braincells argue about every little detail. Polls were done on communities with thousands of people and up to 70% like the first stream so those that freaked out make the most noise but need to be ignored 80% of the time because they base their entire argument on emotion with zero fact or input. As far as I am concerned I like the tank class that was shown. With a few more iterations it will be a solid class.

  3. Ugh, what an echo chamber of "im special enough to like AoC, i know what makes a good mmo and you don't" has this channel become. I can tolerate your objective videos… When you start to "think" or whatever you call this sad piece, you always sound like an asshole. I get your point, but you didn't need to anlienate the entire part of the MMO community that actually plays the available MMOs and enjoys them, for whatever reason, to make it. What do you think AoC is going to survive off of? A bunch of hard-core players that will probably die in their room because they'll never log off? Spare us all your condescension. This game will need people, and they ain't coming out of the bushes to play a game after 10 years of not playing anything. They will, however, be coming from streamers and youtubers, or just out of curiosity (they'll probably advertise the game in some way). And these people influence today's players, not the 10 years ago players that quit wow because they didn't want to play anything else. So yes, there are delusional people amidst the MMO genre players, but that doesn't mean much. Just like there are people delusional about FFXIV and WoW and etc…there are also those delusional about AoC.
Also, as a final note, AoC is ALREADY manipulating their audience with FOMO and the likes, so double spare us your BS on that front as well.

  4. I haven't seen any rage or complaining? Everyone is just patiently waiting and getting more excited as time goes on. Everyone knows this is a long process. And there is so much obvious passion running through this game. Focus on the essential core gameplay elements. Love the channel as always ❤😂

  5. An uneasy peace between myself as a kickstrter and Intrepid. I cannot refund money because the JAG (I'm a US military retiree) said denial of service must be proven. Hence, I cannot ask for a refund for partial service IF I am not banned completely. Again – An Intrepid BAN is really a shadow ban. Can I say that? The longest game development in history.

  6. the problem is the next gen of players have been programmed to LOVE short term gratification games. They have been turned into Dogs that wont sit unless you have a treat in your hand. But what these big dev company need to realize is that 14 million player sub base wow had back in the day ,are now getting to the point where they have more time on there hands again. They are starting to get to there late 30's early 40's in a few years time most will be shifting from full time to part time work and the current next gen of players will be shifting to uni or college. So AOC is in a preaty good place and if blizzard or MS if they win the bid have any brains they would do a full next gen remake of classic or a wow 2.0

  7. Everything they showed in the Tank demonstration was good. The map, UI, skills, all of it.
Sure they could have used Synergies, Combos, and Communicated more – but that wasn't the point. They were showing the 12 Million players gear progression, hunting elite mobs and mini-bosses in an area tuned for 8 people, with 4 people. And sure, we would play it much more precisely, but we're not the majority – we're hopelessly addicted MMO Veterans!

  8. Some people just love to throw shit to see what sticks, but if you dare to say anything you are just a shill or white knight. But you really are just speaking the truth Narc. Be critical but be constructive and I am afraid too many just take a dump on AOC because they think it's cool.
As for the combat, people need to realise no matter what Intrepid do there will be those who will hate it end of story. Too many seem to want to bend AOC to some sort of personal vision they have when in reality there is only one person who will realise there personal vison and that is Steven. I just hope he sticks to that vision and does not get sidetracked by the noise being generated by some.

  9. Its normal it having hate already, cause this game is too far from being done, the joke of coming out in 2077 could be actually the year of release, cause i kinda do hate this kinda progress updates, cause its like they pitching a person with pitchfork, trying to get our attention to something we dont even know if it will ever get released, so far the only 2 negative things i can say its the combat animations that require alot of work and i knowing i would have to buy the game and pay monthly fee for a game i just bought sucks, so until this game has a solid build i will continue playing other mmo's.

  10. I watched Asmongolds take on the tank showcase and a lot of the toxicity is driven by people who don't realize that this MMO just isn't made for them. They basically clamor for convenience features and think that the exclusion of these features is an oversight rather than a conscious design decision. It is unfortunate, but the larger the community grows, the more of these types of people you are going to find. Things will only settle down once the game releases and people get to try it out. After that, people who can't stand the heat will have to get out of the proverbial kitchen.

  11. It is baffling to think that the same people (seemingly) will shit on developers for not showing any gameplay in trailers and will then shit on developers being completely transparent through their entire development process. These people only want to see a finished product. Even if the game is years out it is taken at face value. I too want to see a finished product. I am one of the ones who spent 500 dollars for alpha 1 and 2 access and to support development. I have been following Ashes development since 2018. I've been waiting for 5 years. I want this game to be good and I am willing to wait even longer if that is what it takes.

  12. I think most of these have to be coming from the click bait pvp vid back in October….it's laughable at best…..i didn't mind the first take on tank, it showed us a development studio actually playing their game and having fun, which is what it all boils down to isn't it? Now, the second video was great….most of what everyone wanted. Hell, we're only human, we make mistakes. People need to chill out, as another commentor said below, Steven and the team don't have to show us a damn thing…people don't realize that they will never see this form of open development in their lifetime or mine. Keep up the great vids and come on Alpha2!
