Also: we've been able to jump and charge and charge vertically in SWTOR since 2011. Nothing new there.
About the mana resources. Ever class seems to have a primary and secondary resource. Mana is everyone's primary while the secondary is unique to each.
If you think about it though, mana makes sense from a lore perspective because everyone is coming to vera and engaging with the essence for their power, which conduits through mana to channel. A fighter would have been a non magical soldier type before coming through the gates and are now taking those abilities to the next level with access to the essence.
If Alpha 2 is still slated, we should be getting an announcement for the date at the end of may.
I like the way you are thinking. The skill tree should have a clear starting point, and be robust enough that every Arch Mage is not the exactly same at end game.
I agree with your momentum take. There should be a handful of moves that rely on momentum in my opinion sort of like an execute at the end of a combo. It'll add more nuance to the combos and inherently be a way to balance certain moves in the future.
