Ashes of Creation FESTIVUS, let's air some grievances

Read more about Ashes of Creation ➜ https://ashesofcreation.mgn.tv

Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

  1. Narc complains alot And overexaggerates alot. But is he wrong though? Look at the state of the game after being in development for as long as it has. Very few of the quests even work in the game. You know, the primary feature of mmorpg's?

  2. i think your just salty because hes dead on the money about the scheming going on behind the scenes and i also think youre just trying to ride his coat tails of success so you get exposure by making a hate video. there is my grievances

  3. Solid video, Narcs mental boom was a huge eye opener for many people. I truly believe that Steven telling him he should take a break alongside the Pirates trying to remove him as Mayor pushed him over the edge of his ego.
Going into phase 2 there were changes like more nodes, larger player capacity, the implementation of more random quests, player shops ect with 5 months to implement and fix the rest of the content before phase 3. Its crazy to me and i find it extremely disingenuous how the loud minority of "critics" seem to have forgotten that because of their own expectations. "There's lag and server issues!" They just 2-3x the total server populations, added content and phase 2 literally just started… The team isnt even at the office and people are mad they arent making constant fixes. I dont understand how people can be so mad Intrepid left the servers online during the holidays (many people dont celebrate or even have people to celebrate with so they can have something to enjoy). To many players are trying to play this game like its a full released game putting in hundreds of hours that they forget its an alpha

  4. his weird obsessiom with steven is one thing, but he is right about the fact that alpha 2 looks nothing like the livestreams. the copium meme has gone beyond a meme and has become the way you guys genuinely engage with the project

  5. Hahahah this once aF'n gain is toooop tiiiier content. I lose power for a few days due to stupid island problems, i come back and narc is causing a shitstorm of nonsense. Thanks for leveling that whole thing out aaaand bringing some holiday cheer to the greatness our community has.

  6. The situation with narc has been sad to watch but i sort of stopped watching after he pivoted to twitch content. Idk how many are like me but i like good editing and he fell out of relevancy for me up until i saw a reddit post about some great content creator making an ungraceful exit.

  7. The opportunities I have had to converse with some of the devs give me hope that at least the ones I've spoken with are passionate and dedicated to the project.

It reminded me of when I was fresh out of college and had a dream to make games. The industry ran on and was fueled by that kind of passion. It led to a lot of failure, but boy, when a project came together with the right group of people, you captured lightning in a bottle.

  8. I'd like to see your take on whether 'carebear' or 'Academy' guilds which exist to roleplay as police and peacekeepers have a place in Ashes and should habitual PVP-ers be expected to leave these blueberries alone?

  9. Too many people getting “game famous” too soon into the “game”.

It’s like, there is a lot of people fighting for attention and fame in a game that’s not even out yet.

You clearly see people that like and dislike Steve, so, it’s almost like people are grinding for the devs attention.

  10. Narc went from being entertaining to toxic. I unsubed from him long ago be uase zi am rant averse.

I'm testing the game for me and Steven. I have played every class to 15 to make sure I have a good feel for them. Tried all the crafting and gathering skills available to greater and lesser degrees.

Take breaks from the game and play BG3 as a change of pace. I do not overreact to bugs as I expect them. Am happy about all the exploits being discovered so they can get fixed now instead of after release.

It's all about attitude and perspective. It's testing. No drama.

Oh, and remember, the dev team is coming back from holiday vacation, so I expect to see some terrific patches coming soon to improve the game.

Intrepid is doing a fine job. I sure hope the toxic people don't tank their morale.

  11. Imagine getting triggered in an Alpha…..I'm in alpha 2 now, it plays like an old school MMO where you have to put in time to get things done. Anyone remember DAOC, took 3 months to hit lvl 50 and you almost cried when it happened due to the amount of work it took. People are spoiled by the theme park MMO's out now where you are max level in 24 hours and go meme troll about not enough content. Regardless, its a busted alpha build not the real game, i entered it with that mindset and am enjoying het old school feel of it, no need to rush, test, find the bugs, send them in that's your job as an alpha tester don't buy the alpha if you don't want to do that. /shrug
