With the start of Feedback Friday I thought i’d just lay out some of my concerns looking towards the future of Ashes development and some slightly smaller changes that could easily be implimented in the next patch (yeah right)

  1. Since players can become citizens of a city, I would love the art of the city to reflect the citizens. So if your city is 50% human 50% orc, then the art of the city should reflect this. Might be tough to pull off, but I think this would be awesome to see and watch cities change as players move in or out. Might even inspire a little infernal conflict among races, which could lead to some epic moments

  2. good video mate, but i disagree with the quality of life suggestions, everybody has their quality of life suggestions ( things that would make the game easier for them ), but those stuff takes out from other people, like if they added guides on the minimap or stuff like that, it would kill the immersion for me

  3. Again. After the initial onslaught of expert gamers, things like redwood lumber and rock should spawn regularly in the noob zone for the blacksmith quest. Solo and casual players will be turned off.

  4. The quests are not tied into the node system at all. Right now on Resna Na'la has been leveled to a village and there are no new quests, bosses, or dungeons. Hungering Maw isn't even in the game.

They should focus on making content tied to Nodes and letting nodes level properly. I see that as the minimum viable product for this game.

  5. – Have npc corpses last longer before despawning
    – Have more flowy walk/run/turn animations
    – Have action-camera options available in settings (camera shake, foot step thumps, weapon swing, etc)
    – Have better designed dmg/heal numbers on the screen (the current one looks like an old design)
    – Have sprint graphics look better
    – Hire Jeremy Soule as music composer :0

  6. I havent played yet but the Ui for the Health and mana (future stamina) bar for the player, can you move it so its not always in the top left? also if your fighting a mob its hard to tell the hp bar of enemies in a group. tooltips need pictures for random items you get for the bottom right. Also will the lore be implemented when you try to fuse clases together after lv 20 or 40?

  7. In my opinion, I get that you want more direction, however, as far as I understand, the game is more of a sandbox than a theme-park. So, on theory, I guess there is no ''reason'' to have more direction on the game. Unless they change the scope of the game to be more directed to focus on a story/lore, like theme-parks do.
Don't get me wrong, I would like this game to be way more theme-park than sandbox, but since that's the direction they decided to take, I wouldn't expect any change to that direction. Maybe if a HUGE part of the community ask for it, but I guess it is unlikely to happen anyway.
The other feedbacks sound pretty based, so great vid as always. Hope to see you giving us more and more updates on the game 🙂

  8. They said that voice acting cost a lot and that they'll be hardly any in the final product.

But I mean is it like that only the US ? Cause I've been working in an SE studio in Europe and all the voice acting we had to record and master for games and stuff wasn't charge that much tbh.
Paradox dude said "It cost millions and millions of dollar", which I'm still not sure it's true. How the hell do Modders do voice acting at home for some 10 years old game (TES V) and Intrepid Stud can't even do it ? It just feels weird to me.

The only thing keeping me from fully accepting this game is the lack of immersion. Sure it's beautiful and a big open world, sure it has plenty of options etc. But what I feel is lacking from most MMO's today is the RPG side. And that's the same feeling most of my friends have.

The whole "create your own story in your head while playing" is such an elitist and effortless move I can't cope with. It was fun when I was 10 on Vanilla WoW when there was no questing scenario. Now that we got the tool to do so, it's cringy.

  9. The game shouldn't be giving you all that much direction imho. Sure, nudges here and nudges here, but the direction should come from yourself. What nodes do you want to level up? What nodes do you want to destroy? The node combination will unlock certain bosses, so which bosses do you want to do? That's part of where the direction will come from.

  10. Hmmm, when it comes to the quests, I think they would do great by having the minor ones be more contained spacewise. Some of the quests feel like they send you in all four directions for no real reason.

  11. AOC lack culture in architecture design. it feels like we are in another planet. mmorpg usually use medieval europe ecstatic, without medieval europe, mmorpg feels less entertaining

  12. For my interest I think its important to filter in suggestions that actually improve testing and not "playing". They can obviously overlap but I think so many people forget that this is a test and not for your enjoyment. Alot of suggedtions will be redundant cus it will be not relevant at this stage and the devs wont enable such features until close to release even tho they already exist or are planned.
