  1. I am desperate for a new MMO without pay to win and I believed what they were promising back in 2020. I bought a package in 2020. It has alpha and beta access and game time and cosmetics. I know there is a chance I won't see any of it. It's a gamble and I might be flushing the money down the toilet. I accept this as a possibility but I wanted to back because I don't think I have played a decent MMO in years. It is a shame they are getting kind of scummy to get more cash in the door.

The only "generous" explanation I can give them is maybe they say they have to sell these keys for more testers because they genuinely do need more testers but don't want to just give keys away that others already bought or hire their own.

  2. I could do a maybe 2-3 hour comprehensive test of target features if they paid me a hundred bucks. You have to be insane to pay them for basically doing a tester job and huffing copium about having impact on the development. Remember the gameplay loop he described!

  3. Was never hyped for this~

It was certain it would go down the same path as many bevor them.
Games not every out yet or in the future, but cashing out on literally nothing is the way~

Game "Testers" got paid back in the day, but now u gotta pay to test for them.

  4. if they were in a position to deliver an mmo of any worth moving forward there is no reason whatsoever to charge for Alpha its utterly batshit lol this has been so hyped for years but its just gunna be another garbage game designed to rinse everyone for as much as possible? cool, glad we figured that out finally

  5. When are people going to get it through their thick skulls that the dream MMO they want simply CANNOT be willed into existence via crowdfunding?? The evidence?? Literally every crowdfunded MMO project. Only a major studio with massive financial resources can make one that will succeed. Was told for years Ashes of Creation was the exception. Lo and behold…….

  6. I really don't understand this drama. I don't care what they charge for alpha, they could charge $50k i am only interested to play the game when it launches. Idiots are too invested in this alpha and i don't understand why, it's not like the ones crying about the price know anything about testing a game.

  7. "you do not understand the scope of what this game is trying to achieve" is the answer I got from one of the aoc simp cult members.

This is supposedly coming from the number #1 guild to a game that doesn't exist.

    Shits mad really.

  8. Say what you will about Ashes, but they obviously looked at the numbers, determined what profit they hoped to make (and they will profit at this price point), and used a supply and demand graph to set the price. The fundamental problem is DEMAND. There is a very real demand to spend $100 on a game that literally doesn't exist. That says more about us as consumers than it does about them.

  9. It is either they are greedy af or they have financial problem to complete the game which is very concerning. With business tactic like this.. the developers have no intention to finish the game anytime sooner.. or later.

  10. What the actual fuck eh? At this point i no longer even want to play. Def would not pay to test. Pay me. But at this point id pay to never hear Ashes of creation again im so burnt on hearing that name. Come back in eight years when its in beta.

  11. Did they really say that they need more testers so they are selling these keys because of it? I don't remember this from the livestream. can someone please point out the part in the livestream when they said this?
EDIT: NWM, found it. yea, they should just have said that they need money.

  12. 17:15 it seems that Kira has some issues with Steven Sharif… now I understand the negativity.
Also, that the guy never loses is also BS. He already put several millions into this project (allegedly). So when it fails, he won't be able to sell it for as much what he put in.

But what Kira says is true, just ignore this whole thing and when the game is finished, if it is finished, then we will see what it looks like… but then again, why is he ranting about it for 45 minutes? XD

  13. I bought the 250$ pack and haven't regretted it one bit. I paid more for games that I played for some hours and haven't touched anymore since then. Be sure you know what you're paying for. I am totally satisfied with the feeling of being part of something and being invested in AoC. I'm not simping and will be critical of what Intrepid puts out in the future. They are and where very transparent in what they are selling you.

  14. 4:00 not only that but they break everything they said even with the "we don't make this for the money" mindset lol.
I didn't care too much about the game ever since they said it would be open PVP and then showed the combat, but this stream was pure circus to watch

  15. They probably do have QAs for the game, just feels like a cash grab to me. Puts me off even wanting to try the game when it comes out now

lol also sounds like they will sell beta access too.

  16. Its to expensive, but you are ignoring obvious problems with free keys. If you only have a limited number, people just sign up for free keys willy nilly but might never play.

  17. Everything is in 3 because most people wouldn't buy the most expensive product right away but if you introduce them to a cheaper product the' show them a mark up that seems advantageous then they'll probably buy it even if in a vacuum they wouldn't spend this much. And studies proved that it works two times after that you just lose the buyer

  18. They must be running out of money I say. This seems desperate. Essentially you're selling jobs that people have to pay to do and then get fired. Beyond retarded.
