Great video man. With this information being out there there is no reason pver's need to not try ashes. Ash's will easily be the top mmo out when it launch's because of the dedication they are bringing to the table. I'm trying to save money to build a PC because I don't want to miss Ashes when it Launches.

AOC to me just wants to fill another niche and I like how open they are about it. It's like the dark souls of MMOs. It may be less friendly to those casuals intimidated by pvp but not every game has to be that way, I for example love pvp. Lets just hope it's not too niche and dies early.
The classes definitely sound interesting though, really want to see what a shadow disciple (rogue/cleric) plays like xD.

I find the PVP stigma with MMOs to be odd. I've never seen anyone say they wouldn't touch a MOBA if it has always on PVP. I understand it's probably because of the persistent world and progression systems, and people not wanting to lose progression. But in this MMO, as you said, the corruption system is pretty restrictive so it shouldn't be a problem in this one.
You are wrong in one aspect, he IS anti pvp. He would perfer a pve only server, just check with his community. Being anti pvp is fine, and I too have some concerns, but making a whole video on the subject just to push an add or two is beyond the pale.

He did zero research, based it on a game that has nothing to do with Ashes, made extreme leaps of anti logic, and resorted to name calling and attempted shaming of players who have a play style he doesn't like.
It's obvious to me he's trying to protect his ESO revenue, as the more people leave to play Ashes mean less for his bottom line. That Raid Shadow Legends plug is really all you need to know…..
There is no integrity in his video, it was a misinformed hit piece that flat out ignored facts to scare monger you into not playing it, ignoring everything that the developers have ever said about it….

Why is "this game isn't for everyone and that's ok" controversial? Not everything is for everybody.
Lucky Ghost knows his audience and honestly they will prob not like Ashes as it stands now. Griefers are a real concern and honestly I don't blame him for being worried about that. Past experiences leave a sour taste and people who like to grief will find ways to subvert the system no matter how you try to take them into account.
While it's nice the developer is communicating and open to thoughts of others, (hello ZOS, give it a try) I reserve judgement until there's actual real play because stuff has been changing rapidly (not surprising as its in Alpha). Your caravan. example is a big reason I have no interest in playing though. That and the combat mechanics don't suit me. Its at second job level and that's not what I look for in a game. I hope it succeeds for those that want to have that second job ๐
The fact that Steven is an L2 vet and wants to improve on that is a very good sign for this game. L2 had intense guild vs guild PvP and had a strong active population for many years.
I feel like if griefing ever did become a problem the community would create guilds dedicated to killing griefers like they do in mortal online 2
what I don't want is for the pve crowd (nothing wrong with pve)to get up in arms and try to force or pressure the devs to change away from the pvp system that this game is designed with.
