  1. @2:54:16 Thor confuses there with "currently playing" vs "individuals playing".

    It's true that after the peak (usually the release day) the playerbase dwindles, especially if there is no new content. For the example here, if it started at 12M it usually at least halves within the first week and stays more or less at a stable point after a month or so. But that doesn't tell us WHO is playing right now, just HOW MANY, meaning while let's say 90% of those currently playing are almost always the same, there are also always ppl trying it out again, coming back to it or are even new player entirely.

    So, why is that now important? I for example comeback and play to sometimes decade old games (usually SP). I don't do this every day, maybe not even every year, but I sometimes do it and when I do, I want to be able to play the game I bought, meaning that all of the 12M from The Crew are entitled to play their game, when ever they want. It's not a question about how many servers Ubishit needs or something, it's a question of what can we make for all those who bought it to be still able to play it.

    The usual answer to that problem is an easy way for the playerbase to make private servers, but the specific solution isn't important, only that they have to somehow provide a solution to those 12M. For all I care they can provide themself the necessary servers, sell the rights of the game to another company, that cares, or even make it straight up open source. As long as the players get what they are entitled to, being able to play the game they bought, it really doesn't matter.

  2. Can't SKG clean up their site, delay the petition, and reupload a YT video with a far less vague outline and theatrical grandstanding. I support what I hope the movement is about.
