  1. I think they literally just have to checkmark some buttons to apply the new options to the game. That won't take months. As far as I know they work pretty closely together with epic and definitely new that that was coming and probably also know more about future updates of the engine. Maybe this is a reason they haven't shown naval content yet, because this update made a big change to how it handles redlexions. This is very good news for lower end PCs. It will add stability and performance. A2 is going to glorious!

  2. Wont take them months, its kinda easy..
    It will save alot of time they dont need to create LODs anymore.

    Even if the System is easy and nice to use, still its work to upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1 Ashes is huge so they have to check nothing breaks or have to change it to upgrade.
    My guess it they will use it asap, but depends on whats needed to be done before they upgrade and maybe i would wait till the landscape nanite is fully done and upgrade than 🙂

  3. As a (game) developer that has used many different versions of Unity, UE and other similar engines, it usually depends on a cohesion of things how smoothly if at all a conversion will be. If your talking only lumine integration, its a couple of hours of a new build, then bug testing. But 5.1 will be more then just lumine. It depends on the interaction of the build if upgrading to 5.1 is advantageous. They will check it out internally if its an upgrade for Ashes. Keep in mind that after a major upgrade UE also has mod packs that do individual things. It might be so that they'll choose for a mod pack instead of the 5.1 build if thats more compatible and faster to implement, depending on the release schedule. As a rule of thumb though most companies choose to upgrade to a new version if they haven't released there product yet, and choose for mods when it has, with a new major content patch integrating the new version.
