I could swear I saw Steven do a PvP on a beach like a 2 v 2 skirmish. Couldn’t tell you which of the many hours I saw it in.
Still early for all combat related topics, but I hope that when it comes to active block and active dodging the Devs settle in an archetype based concept, within which MP costs, cooldowns and effect strength all find balance as part of an archetype toolkit.
I personally don't care for sprinting in mmos anymore. It's not exciting to use and it feels terrible when you can't sprint. I'd rather see archetype based abilities (without a hind of casting time) that start running for a brief period, with the addition of some extra effects (increased p def, knock-down enemies upon impact or during the dash etc etc etc).
I really don't care for SHIFT sprinting at the cost of resources. I don't see the point when it's accessible by all and when certain classes can use it better. Mobility is KING in video games. Whoever can move better, wins 100% of the time.
We should go back to challenging worlds in which you can't just ignore the mobs and outrun them. I am sure that there will be hard hitting mobs with low HP, and the fact that they haven't shown them yet doesn't mean anything to me. I want to see footage of a player having trouble to bypass mobs, even when mounted. What kind of mechanics can they implement there? Should ancient highways be the other way to ignore mobs safely, even though the route may be longer and not guaranteeing 100% safe passage from point A to B?
You two covered a fair bit in a short time as well. Here is another reason why I like watching you guys unpack AoC. You dont just wait for the other person to stop talking, in order to spit out what you were waiting to say. When Else started reading the wiki Nyce went back to change his position on caravan repairs/pit stop. You guys actively listen and that's the only way to have discussions and come to conclusions, in order to offer feedback. Many people ramble on an on, and then the next guy rambles on an on, and you see 2 parallel conversations that don't really have a common topic. You gave me an idea about instanced content, without the gear treadmills/boredom.
