Upcoming MMO Ashes Of Creation recently released footage of what players can expect with its Node Wars. This stream displayed PvP of course between two nodes. However, with this being a PvX game, I wanted to put emphasis on something I didn’t see a lot of people discussing. That being the potential of non pvp activities contributing to the war effort so that players with varying styles or preferences can make a difference outside of the normal combat exchanges. Lets explore the potential and impact of this.

  9. First for all, AoC is not a pve game under PvX; because the main focus is pvp and if you don't want to get ganged randomly while doing pve, you need to love pvp first.

    I have a question about Node War system which there are two groups which sees each other as reds and greens as opposing teams.

    Node war flag system is kind of similar to Archeage guild wars but the 3rd party was able to heal the actual guild wars flagged group thy support (and of course if the fight happens at pk'able maps thy attack the other group even thy get criminal points in the game, or thy use skills to trap others or prevent other group with any means with absurd tactics), or in Lineage 2 castle siege, the 3rd party players are able to pk other players in the attacking group which is count as pk kill and you were getting karma points. These are the main real problems of these two games when a 3rd party decides to support one side. Thus, is it the case for AoC too? I might miss it from the long video, thank you.

  10. Economic or divine war type named “call of the kingdom”. Nodes are challenged by the gods to bring materials to their altars. If node refuses to participate or victory node collects a high enough percentage of any gatherable resources the losing node gets gold or other valuable siphoned out of the treasury. If it’s an amiable competition winner takes all that was gathered and the gods transmute it into gold for them to show their favor!

  11. The potential options for node wars in the future allowing more than just PvP players to join in and help are amazing. Hopefully it doesn't only boil down to "Zerg the godspike" at the end of all of them.

  14. 1)war between nodes with common borders or can be declaired by distant nodes?
    2)if war is optional, needs citizens vote, war will be taken place only between mega alliances (like throne&liberty) and in prime time? zergfest! somehow devs should give some love to smallscale
    3) some ground effects overtuned(the one with the lava, the one with the ice where ground freezes, green multiarrow animation) for my taste but not a deal breaker
