I kinda get where Snekkers is coming from, in regards to the AoE. Modern MMO's you just mass pull, AoE and turn your brain off. I think AoE is fine, but the numbers should be tweaked in a way that you cant pull an entire dungeon and just AoE them. It just doesn't make for interesting combat, imo. Its just getting the balance right. I dont think nerfing them before its even tested and seeing where the numbers are at is a logical point though lol. But if you are pulling 2-3 mobs and 4-5 is getting pretty spicy and putting a lot of pressure on the healer to keep the tank up and the tank is having to use big CDs and call for externals to not die is interesting. And then on subsequent pulls, since their big cooldowns are down, they'll have to be careful not too pull extra and everyone will have to be hyper aware of their surrounding, as to not body pull additional mobs. That is what I would find a fun and engaging dungeon grind and loop. Perhaps not everyone feels the same, but thats what I am hoping its like. But numbers do go BBRRRR and dps just wanna see those big numbers lol.
We also dont know how threat will work, so maybe AoE will be frowned upon (or need to be delayed)because tanks have a hard time keeping threat on multiple targets. Too much is unknown, so asking or claiming they need nerfs is just pointless/unwarranted. I do hope that zerging entire dungeons with AoE doesnt become the meta, very boring.
