  1. You know i am not a pvp'er and planned on rolling a mage/support character and wanted to PvE primarily. Ive been playing MMO's for over 25 years and as i get older i do not like to PvP as much. I'm just not as quick or interested in the gameplay (PvP) anymore. However.. I did hop into alpha for the first time for that siege test (Was on Defense – Mage) and was actually nothing like WoW where it felt like i was getting smashed constantly. I'm curious to see how it pans out with all the classes as it will prolly change perception and balance for sure in pvp as well as feel. We had good communication and siege was amazingly fun and not frustrating. As a non-pvper the current iteration of just the 3 classes i think it was in alpha 1 PvP was enjoyable and fun and not a drain, i just hope it can stay that way as balance will be a huge issue. However, spamming my wand melting people was kinda silly.

  2. First time here and really enjoyed the video. Your thoughts about how to keep some sort of safe area is a great point.

    In EVE Online there are different Security status for each system/node (1.0 – 0.0). The higher the number the safer it is. 1.0 -.5 is kept safe by automated sentry guns at POIs and NPCs that will kill hostile players in a few shots. For EVE this also means you lose everything you had on your character at that time.

    Certain nodes need to be kept in semi safe state. So while you could attack someone you also deffinetly die and get crruption. Something like this could work. Lower lvl dungeons are in safer places with NPC patrols on roads and POIs. But the farther you get from the main node the weaker those NPC become.

  3. Cant wait man, honestly that flagging up in town huge massacre is my jam, even if I get my shit pushed in 😀 Sounds a lot like Archeage, just gotta find a crew to roll with, not interested in playing another pve focused mmo with just a couple multiplayer elements

  4. I haven’t seriously played an MMO since Cata. Now that I have wife and kid agro to contend with playing hours on end isn’t something I’ll be able to do often so I will inevitably fall behind. I’m probably naïve in saying this but if you and other testers bring the pvp issue to the devs attention, I actually have faith they will listen and find a solution. Thanks for putting in the time to make this game better for all of us that aren’t hardcore gamers anymore. And I am still very excited for this game and can’t wait to explore AOC.
