Homeowners in our game will have the ability to develop their plot of land as they see fit. Focus on farming, animal husbandry, or own your very own smithy. You’ll be able to specialize your land to maximize your profits or your comfort, be sure to choose wisely

Questing in our world combines the best elements of traditional MMO’s as well as the introduction of our unique player driven experiences. Ashes of Creation offers area quests, public quests, and quest chains that change dynamically and in real time based on the player’s experiences and choices. Players will have the ability to directly alter world events and change the landscape through their actions, as an individual and as a community. Server quests will allow political rivals to compete for the fate of the world

  1. Combat is the main reason why I'm not excited for Ashes of Creation, it doesn't look good to me at all.
    I'm over Tab Targeting in general, but a hybrid system is even worse in my opinion since it creates this weird imbalance in endgame combat as well as making combat feel weird and static.
    Just imagine combat between 2 players where 1 guy is constantly moving around doing action combat where as his opponent is just standing still clicking on abilities in his hotbar.
    That doesn't make for fun combat in my opinion.

    Another thing that rubs me the wrong way is the fact that they are selling both skins as well as in game currency 2+ years before the game releases with some bundles costing well over 100 bucks.

    And I feel like the node system is something that is just cool on paper. Remember how people complained about the cities in the New World Preview looking generic and forgettable? The node system will lead to exactly that problem, a buch of generic looking towns and nothing truely unique. I prefer 10 handcrafted towns over 100 randomly generated ones, but maybe that's just me?

    Currently I'm way more excited for New World to be honest since it feels more unique in it's setting as well as combat and it feels like something actually new rather than another game trying to be the next WOW.

    Maybe you will disagree with me, but thats how I feel.

  2. I prefer action combat too, it feels more immersive. i'm a little worried how the hybrid action/tab combat will work for AoC, hopefully we'll get to see it in action properly.

    I believe Wildstar had a good action combat system, albeit it could be hectic with all those markers/telegraph on the floor but it was still fun and engaging. Healing in Wildstar was fun too. You can target who you want to heal to see their health but healing is aoe or with in the range of the telegraphed skill.
