  1. This is what guilds are for. You can rely on members of your own guild or guilds who specialise in a certain function to get the stuff you need. Alts will be a time suck and are for antisocial players who want to interact with as few people as possible. The whole purpose of an MMO is that it's an MMO.

  2. People will just need to test toons out before they decide on a main. Also buying the alpha or beta may give you an advantage as you can test some of the options before launch day. I will test out dps, heals, etc. I will get to experience some content before launch which may help me eliminate some of the appealing options to me at this time.

  3. this is a quote from steven saying that citizenship is shared. "Your account is bound to one declared citizenship per server, which means that if you have two alts and your main character on one server you may only be a citizen of one node between those three… If you have an alt on a different server, it could be a citizen of a node as well."

  4. This kind of restrictions always boil down to giving advantage to people who are willing to pay to run two or more accounts which is making it first pay2win functionality. I mean when it will be so time consuming that it is ok, why then to not allow this to everyone? To secondary characters on your main account.

  5. If there is no cap on Jobs/Professions at any given level, toon 1 (main) gathers everything, toon 2 on second account can just process those goods, toon 3 on third account can craft those processed goods. Have them all logged in the same node. To prevent this, AoC will have to put a level Minimum to access the next “tier” of processing or next tier of crafting.

  6. Coming from Eve Online as my main mmo I'm not sure what my stance is tbh. For the last 3 years I've played eve while dual boxing every time I play (no software just managing two clients, which is very doable in eve) the utility it offers in that game is just beyond useful and it does not take any social interaction away from me. Also helps that everyone else is most likely using multiple accounts as well haha. For a more traditional fantasy mmo I've never dual boxed but I did enjoy leveling alt's in Wow.

  7. It is not so much citizenship that will hurt ALTS it is the pure time you have to sink into leveling main then Alt , let alone to try to level crafting , now you can level ALL crafts on one character BUT you can only master in one ( Could be wrong , let me know if anyone heard different ). I do not believe I can only get MATS from a Citizen that shares my citizenship , caravans can port from node it node , unless you for some reason are at war with node ? From what I thought was already said ( could of changed ) you need to use Caravans to port LARGE amounts of items , mats etc… but I have never heard that I cant carry that one item that you need from my master class craft to give ,sell ,trade to you . If we have to use caravans and I am going to Send mats to a different node so I can get them to you I sure as hell am going to tell you " get your friends , guild member hell buy mercs to defends that caravan. But i could be wrong on the Caravan node thing , if so ignore and pretend I was never here .

  8. I'm sort of confused, you keep switching terms. In my book an Alt is a second or third character on the same account. I fail to see how having a high ranking gatherer of one node as a main and pass the resources off to a high ranking processing alt located in that same node and then to a high ranking crafting alt as a third also located in that very same node.

With Alts coming from a second account there will be no way to know if they both are owned by the same player or a husband/wife team. So locking both accounts to the same node shouldn't happen.

And to finish things up, Stephen has stated that multi-boxing will be allowed as long as not controlled be a single source. Meaning one account can buff the second account if such an ability exists. And unless recipies are locked or only discoverable by a certain type of crafter I don't see where Alts are not viable at all, but rather very useful if trained up.

  9. Interdependency is fine for the first 6 months or 1 year if it is a good game then when you can no longer find what you need without begging and spamming they will change it. From what you have said about this and your other video about node limiting I am starting to wonder. Also trading by caravan will be limiting unless there is a huge population for years to come. I guess the limits will depend on population. But I have said it before; this game in one persons idea and if you cannot enjoy or fit into it then you should not play.

  10. Do you thinking forming a “mercenary” guild would be doable? Diving dungeons for guilds that dont want to risk becoming corrupted, but want the dungeon. There would be compensation for do so to the mercenary guild. Whether it’s certain loot from the dungeon, currency or resources.

  11. 1) will the marketplace prices be set by the game? kind of like BDO where there is a pre-set range for item costs? or will it be like Archeage where players set the prices? 2) will there be item trading? in Archeage, you could trade anything I'm p sure. like gold, gear, loot, etc. But if I remember correctly in BDO, it was more restricted in the things ppl could trade so no one can just essentially "boost" a player by handing them top gear/ lots of gold.
