Hear me out, everything is awesome so far. And the more time goes the more I believe the project is in very good hand but damn… why the world (espacialy this zone) is so low res and so lowpoly, It's something I don't understand. All models/weapon/zone we see on art showcase is always made with highres texture and so nicely details but every time we saw them in the game engine it look shit and so outdated. why is that ? I mean I understand that every artwork is going to be lower res when it goes to the game engine (optimisation is key) but this is so night and day that it doesn't look the same anymore. Am I alone thinking that ?

I loved everything shown here. I wonder how the servers influence on quests will change it for the individual player… Say I have to work for 2 days and the server degens rip through some major part of the dynamic quest. Do I lose out on that content because they advanced past it?
Ah, I finally understand. Instead of building a MMO, one that is even mediocre, they are selling the idea of building one over the course of a decade, a la Star Citizen as a Space Flight Sim. Probably a very lucrative business, selling copium to the lowest neckbeards in the land.

The only thing that keeps me from believing this game is not a scam is that they had people test the alpha. The content creators who tested the Alpha say its more like a beta; however, as each year passes with them still being in alpha, I'm seeing a scam.

Man some of these combat animations look aweful. Others look great. Hopefully they can find that balance.
The mood setting and assets look good, but color and lighting choices ruin it.
o Area needs major lighting and color correction. Current choices are hard on the eyes at times and take away for all the detailed assets.
o The contrast between the purplish shadows of the trees and corruption veins against the red was very hard on the eyes.
The rose covered glasses effect that turned a lot of what you were looking at a valentine’s day pinkish red with dark purple shadow tents.
o The nighttime lighting needs to be 12-20% darker to really sell the creepiness and danger of the area.
I always think of Diablo and how they stage the play area environments like this. They always nail that dark creepy vibe.
o Personally, what I would do is take a few screen shots comparing different lighting and color pallet passes from the same location and then have the community vote on what they like.
• The actual textures and detail in the statues and wall coverings were great.
• I liked the blood that was bleeding down the wall murals it was a great scarry movie effect that was added and it sold it.
• Light coming through the stained glass was nice.
• The ash particles in the air were nice and not too overwhelming.
• The blood fountains were good.
• The pulsing veins that grow up walls and across the bridge were great but need color correction.
• I would add some more assets to the stage the rooms and area.
• Diablo IV has done a great job of making their locations feel and look different. Ashes needs that too.
If alpha 2 is a distant dream, i can imagine the launch date for the game is around 2050-2080!

Still worried about what I see: melee fight model with no collision physics. The fighter and monster should feel the impact, have effect from the collision. Fighting air when only feedback of the damage you caused are the numbers on the screen is an immersion killer. You need to feel you are beating the creature brutally.
