So this is the THIRD map speculation video I have done on Ashes of Creation…I really need some A2 spot testing soon lol. This time I talk about estimations for the size of the Riverlands, and what Zones we might see at the start of Alpha 2.

  1. The Riverlands is "the primary focus of testing" in Alpha 2 and "the primary location" for Alpha 2, according to the Node livestream and the climate livestream from last year, respectively. SS has a recent post on Discord where he specifically mentioned the Riverlands, Sandsquall Desert, and the Topics in connection to testing of Freeholds (?) during Alpha 2. Many have extrapolated this post to mean that those are the three zones that will be available at the start of Alpha 2, though the context does not actually give great weight to that speculation. The only confirmed zone for Alpha 2 is the Riverlands. Depending on server population limits, which could very well be no higher initially than they were in Alpha 1 (1500), the Riverlands is large enough in and of itself to accommodate that small of a population. The "goal" concurrent player numbers per server often quoted (8-10K) have not been confirmed as having been achieved, and no information has been released by Intrepid at all concerning progress in server population caps. Using those numbers as a metric is not supported by the evidence. I asked a specific question concerning progress on server pop numbers in the official forum thread for a livestream a couple of months back and was told that "details on Alpha 2 will be released when we get closer to Alpha 2". Until more evidence surfaces, or until Intrepid makes an announcement, it is not a valid assumption that server populations will be high.
