Hey everyone!

I just wanted to do a video going through what we do know and what we don’t know as far as the potential exploiting that happened during phase 2. I know this has been a huge talking point in the community and I wanted to get my thoughts out in a video.

A link to the first video can be found here:

  1. banning people for "exploits" in an alpha is wild and ive actually never heard of it happening before. Wiping their characters sounds more like a reasonable response. But i dont have any dog in the race, im just saying it sounds insane.

  2. I don't think anyone is really complaining that the dev team was off. That's disingenuos. What was missing was a swift condemnation, acknowledgement, telling these people to stop. That gives them the ability to say they were warned. There's a bunch of people in their forums trying to talk around it and many people saying its ok. Finding and reporting a bug is good and helps the game, abusing it only helps you not anyone else.
The levelling biz is annoying. There's too many people that rushed and are now bored and just roll lowbies for entertainment. They also aren't testing anything other than mob combat. They are exploiting to advantage versus doing the actual content. These are not the kind of people that I want to game with.

  3. The idea that continuing to use an exploit is "helping" is terrible for alpha testing. People aren't so stupid that they actually believe this. They're just want the advantage.

  4. Those defending the exploits during an alpha are obviously missing the point.
"It's just an alpha, who cares"
Well, what is the point of an alpha? To test things, including leveling speed and economic growth. So how are you going to get reliable data on either of those if people don't stop exploiting, duping and cheating? You don't and therefor, you must eliminate the problem from the equation.

  5. Since I sent video of this being done to intrepid in sephillion I want to see a list of names 😂😂 cause this particular guild also declared wars on a bunch of people after the exploiting. Your exact scenario.

  6. Perfect take! I think you eased some minds about the exploitation. I will say along with developing the game, developing their punishment and tracking for explotation is just as important. If it takes them a month to get this right and it delays the game a month it will be all for the better.

  7. Jate to be thst guy, but if they don't swing the hammer hard I'm taking a long break following much less playing the game. Might check back in at launch, might not. This is their last chance to show me that this game isn't going to be a clusterfuk of explorers and griefers.

  8. I'm pretty sure that Steven and the team know that if the punishment is not severe (meaning bans) but more of a de-leveling kind of punishment then people would just level back to max and do it all over again. Exploiting hurts the games core and economy, basically hurting the experience for others and who knows maybe some parts of the game aren't even tested the way they are supposed to be because of some exploits that exist and actively being abused… I demand bans.

  9. IMHO! ANY ACCOUNT AFFILIATED WITH SUCH TRANSACTIONS SHOULD BE RESET! 2nd: OFFENSE IS A FULL REFUND OF THE GAME! PERIOD! This would be the best way to keep the community happy.

  10. Their track record is not great. Their solution to the duplicate exploit in p1 was to remove all legendary materials, even from the players that never duped. This shows that they don't track the items, so I doubt this is the reason why its taking so long this time.
