I think before we throw out the system we need to see how they are excuting it. Feels like this question is getting a lot of negative responses and ee havent really seen anything yet.
Druid and Monk arent supposed to be base Archetypes. They are supposed to be formed from a combination (like Cleric/Tank could be Monk or Fighter/Cleric or whatever). My problem is they have worked almost 10 years with this concept and have not really explained what they are thinking or working on except Fighter charge turning into a teleport with a Mage secondary.
I think you are putting too much emphasis on the word Class. I get it, but in reality it is going to be flavor (most likely). For example, A Ranger/Mage is just a Ranger that is shooting Fire Arrows or doing Ice attacks, while a Ranger/Cleric might be adding Heal on Hit to their targets.
Apparently, Summoner/Cleric is supposed to be a Necromancer. I don't know how. I have some ideas on how that could work. However, we need something concrete from Intrepid before we start co-signing or nay-saying the process.
As I understand Cleric will be the Primary Healer. Bard the primary Support, Tank will be the primary Tank. The Summoner, will likely be the jack of all trades. Probably only able to be a Master of the DPS role and mediocre at Support/Tank. As for them being a Healer? I can't really see the Bard or Summoner being able to fulfil the healing role at all. It wouldn't make sense but that part is yet to be seen. I honestly think this system could be great if they can figure it out and make the secondaries impactful enough to "feel it" but one small notch in Your belt, maybe You'll be restricted to augmenting 4-5 abilities for secondary class, and 2 for Racial augments and abilities. Giving small bonuses like added status effects, or damage type, or small buffs or utility. Then You've still got Your armour type and weapon type. All those small things add up to a lot of diversity. I believe Your primary class determines Your base stats of Your character too which is really cool.
I have a different perspective, i think they are further ahead in development then the community thinks, i think we all underestimate UE5 built-in development assistance software, i think all we are truely waiting for is, optimisation adaptation at every interval as we move forward. The numbers regarding balance, in reference to, new content ideas and implementation, because they are confident in, alpha-2 phase 3, as to state that it will be focused on just content updates, so, all the systems involved to produce this content is nearly complete, so once the foundation and math has been set, development would drastically increase… A possible july 2025 release??? Near my birthday on july 28th?? I cant see past my hope 😅
everquest 2 launch model, was one of the best class systems ever. they had root classes (like aoc is doing) and then you moved through classes like a skill tree to get to your desired class. AOC has taken some of that magic and made it a bit easier, as long as it's still unique and flavorful, good. FFS at this point i've been playing a game that I've hated since cata because there is nothing interesting is available.

augments should something as simple as a passive or two.
It would be nice to have some timestamps, Im not really intrested in listening whole 2 hours.

Doesn't it seem like the blinking charge is part of the rock paper scissors balance choices to make fighters have a way to get past tank walls?

Yeah class system are meh, so many choise but not the one we ''like'' want. The exemple of paladin being mixture of something is weird.

If blizzard couldn't do it then they cant do it, they r a multi billion company.. then all ashes is a lie.. Blizzard doesn't want to do it
