Ashes of Creation: Your most anticipated MMO’s alpha one test phase is moving to mid July – August.
The Ashes of Creation Alpha release date has been postponed by a month. The developers want to avoid such big competition as WoW Burning Crusade and ESO Blackwood.
The start of the first alpha phase was originally planned for June 1, 2021 and should take place throughout the month. In a blog entry, developer Intrepid Studios announced that the test would be postponed by a month into July.
▶ Creative director and studio boss Steven Sharif writes in the update:
“Some of the recent developments have led me to re-evaluate our upcoming test plans and make some necessary adjustments. I will be postponing the NDA release and Alpha One launch date from June 1st to July. I know this is not ideal , and you have no idea how much it hurts me to disappoint our community. But it is my responsibility to make these difficult decisions to ensure that the test is successful.”
The team cites several reasons for this, but the main aim of the postponement is to avoid the releases of World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic and Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood:
“Finally, several new expansions were announced for other live games that would have coincided with the start of our test on June 1st. We estimate that approximately 25% of our current test pool are active players in these titles. This fact puts our testers in front of the Choice of either joining our test environment (which will be a long and arduous task) or playing an expansion with your friends in other popular titles.”
Alpha One will be the first opportunity for a larger number of players to be able to put their hands on the new MMO for the first time and then report on it. In the current pre-alpha phase, in which mainly company employees and Kickstarter supporters are on the road, a strict NDA applies.

In addition to the cosmetic items granted with the Adventurer Pre-Order Pack at the time of purchase, you will also be entitled to purchase future monthly cosmetics as add-ons for the Adventurer Level Pre-Order Pack and below. Pre-Order Pack cosmetics are only available during the month they are featured, and will never be available again for purchase.
