So I debated if I was even going to make a livestream reaction/recap video this month. Not because the livestream wasn’t good, I mean it was decent, definitely a strong B. The problem is it was a strong B and it was mostly more of the same. Nothing really concrete, Intrepid not addressing the long running cosmetic question which has now been avoided for 26 months, and really didn’t give the audience a strong sense of confidence. That’s why a B is probably fair to rate this livestream and each month they continue to duck and dodge the cosmetic question I’ll just keep asking: How can you continue to sell cosmetic skins in your cash shop, that you are either unwilling or unable to answer how they are used? This will continue to affect the grade of the livestream, until eventually every livestream is a bad one until we get that one answer.

  2. Silence on a known topic for 26 months is in of itself its own type of answer. With competitors such as Pax Dei now rearing their head, the choice to not answer the cosmetic question and Alpha 2 still not having a soon release date, Ashes is in the "time to fish or cut bait" territory.

  7. I have a concern about the questing….most top guilds/large guilds will probably just be trying to fast track to max level so they can do end game content and probably not care how their decisions affect a server. So the questing to me is very iffy

  8. As always, spot on! I think the whole Alpha 2 delay is not something that bothers me, since they already said in the past that only will set dates when they are absolutely sure that they can deliver. In other hands, looks like they are getting to distracted/feared by the recent competition and it's starting to get ugly. Intrepid needs to turn back into their own development cycle, apologize for their cosmetic issues and move the fuck on! Seems to me they are too concerned about external factors instead of sitting in the chair and thinking their own game.

  9. I'm getting a bit worried about the direction the game is taking. I hope that Alpha 2 will be able showcase what needs to be improved/fixed, but I'm not sure if it will.

  11. I understand your point Jahlon, but I don't think shady practices around cosmetic sales eclipse the rest of the project. I ALSO agree there is a little too much "tell". I am still cautiously optimistic.

  12. The monthly cash shop cosmetics has always been the canary in the coal mine for me on this game. Intrepid have gone through ups and downs in the development space but oh boy those cosmetic cash shop items come on time EVERY SINGLE MONTH without delay. The fact that they keep selling a product to a game that doesn't exist yet and not/refusing to clarifying what that product does or applies to is beyond me. It's the little bit of the iceberg sticking out of the water. I agree with another comment on here, the development talent is there, you can see it in the graphics, showcases of dev game systems, just completely nailing these development iterations time and time again. Leadership on the other hand seems to be lacking of focus or direction. Can't really put my finger on it it just seems disconnected or off from the actual game development.

  13. In my honest opinion, I think stressing over cosmetics and feeling not heard is kind of irrelevant when they are still working on the core game. This is an answer we will get when it matters. Currently it doesnt matter, its a cosmetic. I rather a game that plays up to the hype. Youre stressing over the wrong thing.
