  1. You already know my thoughts about how Ashes might better differentiate weapons themselves. I suggest looking up the Warlock variant of D&D originally distributed on the ARPANET in the 70's, and look at the attack matrix and critical hit tables there.

If different weapons fare differently against different physical armors, then the choice of weapon and armor matters more, and characters might benefit from carrying a variety of weapons.

  2. IF it´s anything like Lineage (the game Steven played the most and is basing AOC), you will problably have passive skills that increase damage with some weapons… So, Rogue would have passives for Daggers, Rangers for Bows and so on… I understand that "weapon specific skills" means that skills are based on your class, not the weapon you are using (like NW), but you will problably have skills on your class that only works with specific weapon… is that it?

  3. It feels weird to use whirlwind with daggers and have the same range/movement speed as with 2h sword. Just give us lower range and high mobility and it will make some abilities usage very cool. If they will just ignore weapon you use it will be looking and feeling bad. I'd prefer locking skills to weapons if they won't touch visuals for each weapon.
