With the Weather and Climate mechanic discussions coming to an end – I thought we could top this short mini-series off by discussing the TRUE POTENTIAL of this using solid evidence discussed by Steven himself, many months ago… And my god it goes far deeper than we thought.

Red eyes in the video again – no i’m not on drugs, it’s just the sheer ammount of copium i needed inhale to make a script like today’s one. I hope you enjoyed!

  2. I wonder if they can use this weather system to create something like a nightmare weather condition that turns all the trees into spiked tentacles with eyes, all the grass into fiery nails, all the water into boiling blood and all the animals into screaming corpses

  3. Just thinking about the day/night cycle with lightning storms at night or meteor showers. Rolling fog on the oceans and sand storms in the desert. Imagination starting to go wild.

  4. You might be able to squeeze another seculation video out of the side comment one Dev said during the video, where he mentioned some non-traditional weather in other zones would be pretty wild! One of my suggestions to them was Ghostly weather! Also, your server-wide conflict sounds like a large version of FFXIV 1.0's Hamlet Defense system! Where Crafters and Gatherers were just as important as fighting classes in the Hamlet's Defense!

  6. The idea of the ancient beings invading vera is nice. Setting aside players conflict and turning the attention towards the bigger threat. Reminds me of an mmo that I played many years ago. They would hold an event and spawn a big boss an ancient god that would take hours to kill and once dead it would drop a very rare item, well a crystal and that item is one of the Ingredients use to create crystal weapons an end game type weapons.

  7. Lore stolen from previous franchises? I'm not sure if that means stolen from their previous games in their franchise or from other game franchises. Both eso and ffxiv have lore that's perfectly fine and isn't any different from wow and gw2.

  8. INHALES It would be interesting to have the first mmo with a fail state. If the event you described narc would fail the world dies and ends only to be born again.
Full Node Wipe, Full Character Wipe. Everything goes back to (kinda) how it was on release.
Old players will get a bonus on xp to level up faster again and other boni for participating. NPC's will be switched out with different ones.
The event beforehand could also add a risk-reward system where players can join a cult that aims to destroy the world. Any cultfollower then gets a headstart "in their next life". While the cult followers try to achieve their goal their character can be permanently killed in the last phase of the event (giving the new character the same boni like after a potential server wipe) by other players while characters that attack the cultists and get killed by them will be banned until the events end.
If the event doesn't fail and "good" wins then life goes until years later when the event runs again.

One has to keep in mind that this event would only run like every 3-5 real life years. So it would be very rare and a server wipe likely would only happen once per server ever.

  9. I think it would be interesting to have a system where unique or top tier items could/had to be created in a specific weather zone event and be guarded while doing it. Like a guild would basically defend a group of crafters from being harmed or interrupted during a difficult crafting process and the result would be a piece of gear that would seriously help the guild. It would also make interesting open-world PVP opportunities if for a period of time that item was droppable upon completion, say like 5 minutes your guild has to hold on to it before it locks in the inventory.

  10. If the damn game ever actually comes out. ngl kinda pissed they keep changing the pre order packs while never giving a release date, imaging a fomo system out before people can even play the damn game.

  11. Hey Narc great video as always! As i was watching the video, you mention guilds targeting events and such, i started wondering if there is or will be some mechanic for guilds to hire or accept Mercenary groups (parties or smaller guild) for example let’s say me and my brother don’t want to be in a medium or big guild but want to participate in a big group event. Is there something for us to do those events without becoming guild members or such??

  12. smol fix as someone whose played/plays ffxiv; it doesnt use any previous game lore, it is its own stuff but will make references to previous games/enemies for those that know now and then
but yea i hope they can make me interested in their lore when all is said and done too

  13. You might be thinking that Narc is extremely high on copium right now but these "speculations" are pretty much facts as almost all of what Narc has said in this video was something that were already in the game's design since it's unveiling back in 2017, especially when it comes to dynamic events affecting weather, and now seasons too since they have the tech to pull it off compared to before. The Corruption on the map as nodes progress? That too was already showcased by the team back in March 2021, although in a static manner.

  14. Is BDO lore good? I played 3000+ hours of it and I don't know anything about the world and it's history. I tried paying attention to the story at one point but I got way to bored by it and gave up trying and eventually forgot all I had learned so far. I did not connect with the world and have an interest for the lore in the same way I did for Wow, Eso and Gw2

  15. imagine having gear static but have duration, damage is static but scale on the amount from players, like debuffs and synergies having to always need multiple people and class work together to finish a task, imagine
