1 day before the April livestream the speculation does tend to get a bit wild due to excitement, however this month in particular Intrepid are really stirring the pot by releasing some very interesting teasers and we’ll be discussing all of these in today’s video

  1. So, that the 4 banners in the teaser are the Vek, Kaelar, Empyrean, and Dunir strikes me as potentially significant, but I'm not sure if that suggests tomorrow might be a stream where we see each in the character creator. If so, maybe we'll see the Vek animations on at least the male model. Not sure if the females of each race are equally ready but I'd like to hope so.

  2. My expectations are on two points:

    1) the dwarven race, I really want to see how their character creation system is doing. As much as it is one of the most common races in RPGs, few games (I emphasize LOTRO here) including MMORPGs, managed to bring a cool experience with these bearded shorts.
    2) I know it's unlikely to happen (every MMORPG, when there are more than 30 players in the same place battling, it becomes a game of mashing buttons) but I particularly wanted a combat system closer to what we have in the Souls series and Elden Ring, more cadenced. Of course, I'm "high" on copium right now. hahahaha…

  3. Honestly, the only thing I really want to see next is the classes. Release classes as good as the cleric's kit, and I will play the game.

    Aside: They talked about bard being a strong positionally dependent support. I thought it would be SICK if there was an ability that would select you and ( # of allies in a short radius around you) to be blinked in the direction the bard is walking.

  4. Combat mechanics and how combat will work in general in an MMO is and will always be a core element of the game and will have a big impact on the game no matter what. It doesn't mean that the game is gone down the drain just because the combat is bad, as the game likely and in AoCs case obviously have other content to it. But if Steven and the team makes the combat really bad it's instantly going to lower the interested playerbase a lot and even tho rest of the game is great, the overall popularity will fall a lot. There exist many different types of players, as not everyone is that hardcore PvE/PvP type as you'll see Artisan and Node loving people and that they likely will play the game regardless of how the combat system is, but that doesn't change the fact that the majority of an MMO's playerbase is PvP/PvE focused players, who mostly play the game for that aspect.

  5. given the character showcase was massive i don't expect much for this or the next one. Really need to see good combat or node development to feel properly positive about development, hopefully in the next several months

  6. Straight out of left field, but here's to hoping they discuss something Tulnar related with us. I know that they're not going to, and I'm going to cry in the shower afterwards, but here's to hoping.
