What a great discussion 👏 Alpha Soul is such a great dude! Really good dive into Ashes of Creation… seems like you guys could've talked for hours
In wurm online, an old sandbox multiplayer game, you don't just have to create an item, but you also have to improve it to make it better and repair it while it gets damaged. Repairing lowers quality, so if you repair an item you have to improve it again. And improving has a chance to fail, which damages the item, leading to more repairing. And doing these things, crafting and improving, gain you skill. This leads to less… junk crafting, and each item really takes time to be good. Like, even at higher crafting levels the base item you create isn't perfect, and takes effort. I'd love to see ashes do something similar. I want crafting a good item to not only take good mats, but to take effort from the crafter.
